Cool mm

well, we each got our very own taste of whats hot or not

Im more to what mood im in .. melodic if im home just relaxing .. or some progressive og hard trance when im out partying ..

For an angle is not me at all, but I havent heard it without the vocals, or any remixes though but never the less, IMHO its not cool but thats just me ...

Man I love the fact that soooo many people on this forum appreciate PVD not only as a DJ but also as one of the best producers around. For an Angel is one of his best (and widely known songs) but there are so many others which are also good :

Forbidden Fruit
Avenue
Another Way
Seven

As far as Children goes. I prefere the Tilt remix which is better then the original which I would say is dream trance.
'For an Angel' is definately in the top 10 as far as great trance anthems. But I can't believe no one mentioned Binary Finary - 1999 or Bedrock - Heavens Scent cause these songs changed the way that ppl look at trance music.

it is a felling!

it is the loveparadeanthem.

it's called for an angel because it is a tribute to the loveparade.
the angel the song is about is the angel on top of the victory column in berlin. at this monument the loveparade takes place.

watch the video!!!!
in the end the camera swings to the angel on the monumenyt.

for an angel represents 1.5 million ravers at the loveparade

FUCKING BIGTIME!!!
the first time i seen the love parade (never been to one
all i saw was a group of mad people raving their tits off in the blazing sunshine in a mad German square to For an Angel. And then I started dreaming. That's a fucking wicked image jp!

bollox.
and maybe if it IS commercial.. that's becoz its a MASSIVE choon and even those who dont like Trance are forced to love this one.
anyway this commercial ssue.. I never pay too much attenion to it. if a song is great its great. whether underground or commercial.
Komodo as tu_face said was played in Children's BBC.. it got even THAT far.. but does it mean it sucks now?

nuff said.

Question

I don't get it: Why do people think that everything that's commercial is also bad?
for I.E: Wp Brothers. I saw a thread before, where everybody said that they are commercial [I agree to that], but everyone said that they are commercial, therefore, cheese=bad.
I think that maybe wp.brothers own tunes [phat bass, survive] are great, although they didn't invent the sound themselves. And IMHO wp.brothers remixes are great.
Back to this thread:
the same thing goes on here. PvD for an angel, was a very big hit over the europe, but is that the reason to consider this track cheese?
In here everyone is hoping that Trance will catch in US. But did you think, that when it does, trance is definatelly going to sell, and artists as PvD and Tiesto are likely to recieve very big selling numbers, but that doesan't change their music.

Ok. Long story short:
Commercial Tunes are not always bad.

Shame / Disagreement Tastes differ!

Maybe there are different great tunes, but For An Angel was composed in 1998 - whom of professional djs you can suggest who composed even better, eh?

Greetings,
CJ Slater
