In Germany it started today, I was in the cinema at midnight.
But, I think Part I is better than Part II (better Plot).
Anyway, it's worth seeing it, the final battle was shot perfectly.

OMG, I nearly forgot to mention these pretty women

im told that this is the movie out of the three, that diverges from the book the most. itll be interesting to see how many changes there are.

It does stray from the storyline quite a bit, but it doesnt hurt much.

Just got back... AWESOME movie! A few nitpicks, the main characters are always predictably the few sole survivors in a battle, and you see the inspirational sam speech coming from a mile off. Gimli was used too frequently for comic releif, especially in more serious scenes when it didnt seem totally appropriate... but overall it was still an awesome movie! The helms deep battle was insane, it was like an hour long (with some breaks in between for other parts of the story). The Ents looked as good as you could expect them too. Gollum looked pretty good, but both the ents and gollum are cgi'ed and seem a touch out of place throughout the movie alongside real actors. But oh well, the effects were still amazing. And helms deep! wow!

big thumbs up from sothis!

they definitely changed a lot of stuff, and mixed up the order (in the book, you read each section seperately.. they change it up in the movie). took out a lot of stuff, added some stuff, etc. but still DAMN GOOD. they also end the movie before the second book ends.. which i dont know if i liked or not, but its ok.

The trees..pardon ENTS were cute. Talked as if they were high (notice the ambvalence *proud*)

I didnt know the book (I wouldnt like to start reading before seeing the whole movie cause all my friends who did read it now reget)so..I was quite disappointed that there are no more BIG FAT UGLY EVIL monsters like in part 1 . Instead it reminds you of a typical medieval movie. King Arthur and Excalibur stuff. Oh and disyplaing Gollum's schizophrenia ONCE did it..I got the idea something's wrong with him, why show his mental disorder again and again ?
