The set lists as posted showed DJs (such as Drag'n'Fly) going on at 6, so it appeared that the party would go 'till 7. When you can't dance until 4am because of a lack of room, that extra hour is crucial.

alrighty, time for my review. i'm gonna get the bad stuff out of the way so i can focus on the good things.

bad:

* lineup to get in. waited an hour and a half to get in, pretty brutal. only two people searching too, kinda dumb for all the people coming in.

* coat check. not so much the way in (yay for butting in line ) but more so on the way out. way too many people for those three people behind the counter to handle. and plus, they opened up doors to let the cold air in, and i was freezing my ass off. can't imagine how all the raver girls who were half-clothed were feeling.

* amount of people. i didn't find it too packed in there, but for dancing-wise, it was. had no room to do any moves, hardly any room to glowstick, or anything. just stomp to the beat pretty much, hehe.

k, and now the good. and was it ever good!

* meeting up with graham and kevin in the tent! HAHAHA, craziest shit ever! i see some dude break some orange ultras and i was like "wtf is this shit..." look over, he's doing some good shit, so i walk over... "GRAHAM!!!! WTF!!! YO!!!" hahaha. that was great! then i look around and kevin's right beside me! lol. i was attracted by the light, hahaha. oh, hilarious.

* graham's statement about the countdown.

ROFL!!! i almost died laughing at that, hahaha. too funny

* music in the tent. hearing some awesome techno (tribally at times too) made part of my night. very very sick. but wtf was that when grimace, or dominic or whoever was after them came on. 8 mile theme!?!?!?! fuck that. all the thugs doing the arm thing to the beat, pissed me off so much. if i wanted to hear that, i'd go to the local clubs here. at least he mixed it into some hardcore, but after 2-3 mins!!!! goddamn, that was really dumb. *insert my thug imitation here*

* after the wikkid hardcore set, we made our way into the main room to see madam zu. OMFG. CRAZY. it was really hard to categorize her set, but i'd say it was hard trance, overpowered by nrg. goddamn that was awesome. seeing everyone go crazy, dancing. look up at the booth, the madam mixing, the overheard view on the lcd screens of the madam, i had a huge smile on my face. at the point no matter what happened after that, my night was made. this was what i have always imagined raves to be like, and it hit the bullseye. sorry if that's lame, but at that point it seemed like a true underground scene. i wish i could explain it more, but it's too hard. just, AMAZING.

* NIPPLE SLIP! rofl, that was so stupid man, "omg! a nipple!" hahaha, but who cares, it was fucking hilarious. i wanted to get a pic, but she was always staring right at me, and made me feel uncomfortable, hahaha.

* jelo and dekoze. W. T. F. the things everyone said about these guys, were dead on. they go fucking crazy behind the decks. got me into it SO MUCH. both of them doing the hardcore headbob, their great mixing skillz, holy shit. and the tracks they played, great range. some house, tech-house, techno (mauro picotto - bauguette, or bangkok, i need to check) it was sooooo gooooood. and the random screams dekoze would do when jelo put the volume down for a sec, lmao. that was so crazy, hahaha.

* drag n fly. HOT DAMN! ezekiel (formally sos2) you were right man. he was psycho. biting a record, hopping around in the booth, ontop of the booth, pouring water or sprite into some dudes mouth, lmao. and he played some good tracks too. dumnode - can you dig it (jam-x and leon's mix) was the one i could point out. love that track, hehe. he put out a huge amount of energy, it was madness i tells ya.

* meeting up and having a mini-TA meetup. great to meet you sage, looks like you had a great time man. and flec, good to see you again, i recognized you immediately with your starchild shirt, hehe. and graham and kev, great to party with you guys again.

* meeting other people. k, i was pretty lame and stereotypical raver, but i brought a notepad and got people to sign it flame me now, i dont care, it was funny, hehe. adn there was this one girl who said to me and graham "i love you two." i was like, hmmm... mind game! "yeah, we're twins!" ... "no you're not, your eyes and eyebrows are different!" ... "so? i didn't say we were identical twins." ... "are you lying to me?" ... "why would i lie to you? that'd be stupid." ... i'm a clown met some people from torontoraves, which was pretty cool as well.

all in all, i had a wicked night. huge thanks to nikish for going down with me, and hooking me up with a place to chill (am i a part of the russian massive? ) huge thanks to the dima's, hehe. and also olya for putting up with all of us candy kids, hahaha. also sly, hulla should be fucking crazy. first one! and also inna, an amazing girl i met. purple heaven should be most enjoyable, with you there! ^_^

ahhh, so many memories of that night will be with me for a while. unlike talla, which was a blur, hahaha damn it, i wanna relive that night again

taking everything into account, that was probably one of, if not, the best new years i have had. (totally different than drinking with friends, and watching tv, lol)

peace, Ken

Be Cool!

K, here's my review ;-)
The party was amazing. I'm not gonna mention any bad points, nothing extra-ordinary happened, and whatever downs we had have been mentioned already and were to be expected...nothing is perfect.
Music was outta this world...I was virtually ripped apart between the club room and the tent. Track selections kicked ass everywhere...so much energy, fun...fucking AMAZING music, loved every second of it.
Happy people, had no probs with anyone...didn't get to see the lasers cause we came in a bit late...another time. Venue wasn't hot...big +!
I'm not gonna hail any particular DJ, every1 I've heard has done an exceptional job, big props for that to all of them!
There were 2 similar remixes of one track played in the main room...one was played by Madam Zu, i believe, and another either by Dekoze/Jelo or DragnFly, if any1 would ID it, I'd be greatful.

I haven't met someone whom I really wanted to see...

Props to the ones that made it:

Todd - Happy Birthday dooode! Sorry we couldn't go to your party, 11 peeps in a van that holds 8 isn't much fun for a long drive... ;-)

Ken - Been a pleasure traveling with you...I should smack you for not introducing me to TAs...but...how could I stay mad at you...? hehe. And yes, I believe you have passed the initiation to join the Russian massive, and now you may be called an "Honorary Russian in training". ;-) It was fun chilling with u during those couple of days.

Dima(HM)& Olya - Huge thanks for EVERYTHING to both of you! Hope we weren't too troublesome...

Maya - awesome seeing you again! Better be at next PH! Check out "Toronto Star" if you wanna see pics of you! hehe ;-)

Artem - Dude honestly couldn't remember you...hopefully we'll meet up at some parties in the near future. (PH?)

Dima(malish) - Loads of fun! Take it easy!! And look after your tongue dammit!

Dima(another one) - We must've been cloned...too many coincidences happening that night... ;-)

Sly - Glad I've met you! Enjoyed your company after the party.

Inna - :-) Best of everything to you.

Anton & Lena - always happy to see both of you. :-) Thanks for hooking every1 with rides.

Goodvibezz - nice seeing you again...got icq or any equivalent?

Tony - sorry for not giving u a call in advance. Good thing we've met up even though it was the fucking end of da party...

Temporal Rhythm - Ari? I thought I saw you by the entrance...had no clue you were involved with this event, should've gotten that favor from you... ;-)

Mel - too bad I didn't meet you there, kinda hard to point peeps out when venue is full..

Also met FreakyJunglist and a buncha peeps I saw at Viva during Talla 2XLC who acknowledged me as "that glow-stick guy"...hehe..Show yourselves people! I was the guy dressed in black with black bandana tied around my head for most of the night...over 5'11" tall.
Sorry if I've missed any1, feel free to kick me(no drop-kicks plz) next time we meet.

HAPPY NEW YEAR to EVERYONE!! Have fun and enjoy yourselves like never b4!!!

- Nikita

P.S. Halcyon_Tempest wth is wrong with you? They didn't look into your 100 pockets cause they were trying to get the line MOVING! If any1 wants to bring a weapon in, they'd do it ANYWAY, and there's nothing u can do about it!! BIG props to security for being so very friendly all throughout the night and for making things easier for all of us.

Wicked !!! Everyone had fun ... don't get me wrong, I had fun until the breakz came on. You can tell the crowd NRG was gone when Groverobber was on the decks. Caddy had to get the crowd screamin' and cheerin' (IMO that's a cheap way to get there attention for breaks.) Madum Zu refreshed the vibe and NRG of the crowd. Too bad I left early but, I'm VERY glad you guys digged Jelo vs Dekzoe and of course DRGNFLY !!! <-- Told you soo (about both acts)

I really wished Destiny could of put this party in a bigger venue.

FOUND THIS on TORONTOJUNGLE

Posted by OrginalVibe

First I would like to say Happy 2003 and send special shot outs to all those that came out and supported this event. You helped make this one of our best parties yet! Moreover, I would like to thank all of our dj's and mc's for not just performing but doing a steller A + JOB ... YOU ALL ROCKED THE PLACE!!!!

The vibe in this party was amazing but obviously there are some issues to be addressed:

1) Overcrowding - First off, there were issues with the tent as a giant garbage bin behind the club (which was suppose to have been moved) prevented us from using the size we wanted - aprox 40 feet larger!! Also and most unfortiunlty, the clubs in house security 'snuck' in a couple hundread people which was totally unfair. I have herd reports that at the times when we had held/closed the door, secuirty was taking bribes for as low as $10 to let people in. This was totally unaceptable as it is not fair to anyone that had to pay any of our ticket prices. It also defeated my purpose of stoping/closing the door when I thought it was going to be to crowded. The situation is being delt with and if we have another party at this venue (or anywhere else for that matter) we will do all that is in our power to make sure this never happens again! I am glad to see that 99% of everyone did not let that bother them and still had a wicked time...maximum respect goes out to all of you!!!!

2) The "Lasers" - Wow are those things amazing!!! They were not shut off but actually stoped working sometime after midnight. Luckily, we still amazed your visual needs with our surprise fire work and rocket display. Again - something beyond our controll.

3) The party ending at 6:15 and not 7:00 (as originally promised) - As everyone knows the police have never liked raves. There were about 10 squat cars in the parking lot at 5:00 telling us they were going to shut the party down imediatly for reasons that were compleate b.s. We managed to convince the cops to let us go for one more hour. We were somewhat lucky in that department but it still sucks as the plan was to extend the party to 8 AM since there were still so many people haveing such a good time.

Besides the above things mentioned the party was a complete success...the flyer said "let's show the world our scene lives on" and thanx to each and everyone of you we did just that! So our bigest shot outs and special thanx goes out to all of the ravers that showed up to our party and helped us proove that raves are far from over. I hope to see each and everyone of you again at the next Destiny coming your way SATURDAY MARCH 15th.

originalVIBE out.
