Armin, Ferry, Tiesto, PVD are trance.

I'd like to think Keoki's old albums such as "All Mixed Up" borderline on Trance, but have more Techno-like qualities. As quoted by someone I can't recall: "...Keoki's steam-hammer Techno sets."

Trance is euphoric, techno usually isn't...on that note, Trance focuses more on the melody. One can usually hum a trance tune days after.

Techno can be cheesy, techno can't.

I'm one of the few out there(until I came across this site)who still believe in trance. Most have moved onto progressive.

Best trance tune ever: Ascension's "Someone" (Slacker and original vocal mix)

I think those who are not familiar with the different styles of electronica generalize all the styles into "Techno." I used to be guilty of it before I started getting into electronic music. I generalized HHC as techno! Friends of mine who are not really into the scene do it. It's ignorance is what it is.

OMFG!!! heheh, if an american walked up to me and started talking about progressive i'd flip out. Because i mean... i think a FEW people have actually 'heard' the term trance (at the same time not knowing what it means...) but progressive? mm... i don't think many americans know of progressive as a genre of music.

America should be ashamed for being so ignorant! I have gotten many of my friends into trance and all the electronica genres. Just recently i was listening to some with my friends who usually listen to rap.. and they were like wow! this sounds so awesome... can u burn me this cd? haha i was surprised they even liked it. It was a compilation i made between hard trance and uplifting. So i'm always trying to make the trance scene big around here. One time i filled out this radio station survey and under comments i put Richmond, Virginia needs to have a Trance/Dance radio station and if we had one then i'd listen to the radio. We just need some decent clubs now so that big name dj's can come and spin.
