I know, everybody is saying ASUS makes great products, but every time I buy one it sucks completely. I guess I just have bad luck.

Terratec cards! No matter what kind of card you buy (TV, Sound and so on), they all cause your system to crash or to freeze, especially when your system is running with W2k or XP. They does not seem to be able to programm working drivers.

And when you look for support on their homepage you will find nothing helpful. Just the usual standard FAQ containing not more than 10 really easy problems, that anybody can solve himself. So you are forced to search the entire web for days till your system is running again.

But worse than one terratec card and w2k is: Two terratec cards and w2k. I tell you: no more terratec cards in my system. Never not no more.

I forgot to add to my post that 'Creative SB Live! and Audigy 1 sux0r!' that in addition to the problems that I've mentioned (especially under Windows 2000 or XP), the sound quality from either of those cards isn't all that great - in fact, for their high price, their sound quality is worse than mediocre. On top of that, the 24-bit/96kHz support the Audigy 1 claims to support is only half-true; the Audigy 1 chip re-samples everything internally down to only 16-bit/48kHz, which means that it's only a 16-bit sound card that merely supports 24-bit digital input and output. In other words, it doesn't sound all that much better than the craptacular SB Live!. Worse, the analog output stages of both the Live! and the Audigy 1 are reaaaally crappy, to add to their woes.
