im not even that interested in making djing my life or becoming big and famous

i just wanna be good enough to spin at local clubs and maybe some places around the state

here in jacksonville florida that goal seems very reachable at the age of 18

Hey, does anyone use tracker software like Modplug-Tracker?
It's very good to start with to get some practice in producing. And the quality is what you make of it: what the quality of your samples is etc.
To make it sound less 'computer-like' you can use cooledit to brush your track up and add some delay, reverb etc.
It's a nice alternative for those who haven't got the money for pro-equipment.

PS the url for Modplug-tracker is: www.modplug.com

Smoking ..umm..something

I wouldn't mind being the next Mauro Picotto either...

But frankly i like spinning in the local scene. I have been spinning for 2 years, and frequent all the local clubs. I guess i kind of do want to make it big, but i kind of don't. And all you other local club DJ's out there know what i mean....

Hey DJ Pete. I'd love to do music (Trance) production. I don't know if I'll ever have enough musical knowledge to do it but i know one thing and that is I do have the heart part right . i'll walking down the road and I can hear this tune in my head arranged perfectly. It's overwhelming and i just think "it's too bad I don't know how to produce". Anyways plz give me whatever info/help u can.

You're from Townsville huh? I'm a Sydney boy lol!! I've done some djing in south Africa while I was there and I've been to Goa too and plan on getting to Ibiza in a few months. (hey my Ex wants to pay so I'm not gonna argue!)

Exclamation

Sorry, Missed out on this thread...
I thought about doing the same thing.
I'v got mad ideas about making a song. But when it comes to putting all of these Ideas in a song..that's the process that pisses me off due to the shitty equipment of mine (Yamaha DJX), and a bunch of programs. I would love to produce Trance, but you can't make a song (like pvd or tiesto) using some program....tried...u need to have a PERFECT temper

I know him... he is a friend (and recently a co-webmaster) of the webmaster of the most popular internet radio, www.digitallyimported.com ... when i heard that guy's mixes about 3 months ago, his technique was totally ridiculous and lame. maybe he has progressed incredibly since, but i already lost my interest to his mixes.

Smiley DJ Expectations!

I have a lot of expectations, and obviously one of those expectations are to make it big in the trance seen. I was involved in music almost 4 years ago, now I'm 15 and I'm beginning in the DJ'n. I want to be the next PVD. I know that it is very hard but I'm going to work hard for it!!
