My ears aren't ringing cuz I use earplugs ;)
Wicked night last nite!!!
To clarify something, Ivals was the one and only DJ on b4 Hardwick. I was real excited to know he would be opening, so the rest of you *LAME* TA's who always leave after the headliner is done & usually miss him, could finally hear him. But last nite was not a typical set of his- I think it was requested that he change it up a bit for the opening set (hence, the 'experimental' & varying set). I still love him tho. It picked up nicely before Matt went on tho.
Matt played an excellent set. So many new & unknown tracks, and flawless mixing! Very nice guy as well. Highlight of his set was hearing PUSH- Strange World.
Oliver killed it once again- so, for those of you who leave at 4am, you missed out. I was wiped, and kept trying to leave, but then he'd drop another killer track, sending me back into the booth for ID's. Tracks that he dropped included Marikit (Mario Piu & Joy Kitikonti)- "And you?" (that electro tune in his set), Mauro Picotto- "Pulser"(Marco Zaffrano remix), The Freak- "The Melody, The Sound", and a new promo off In Trance We Trust, by Fictivision- "Ringworld" or "Outpost" (it was a white label, so no telling what side was which song).
Ironically, the Viva crowd was lacking some serious energy last nite! Just a sea of standing bodies.
Reading these reviews, I'm surprized to learn that more TA's were there that I didn't see/ meet. Pre-meet up was fun. Always good to party with the crew. Those who did not attend seriously missed out on a great night of music.
I took lots of pics- will let u know when they're hosted. -Nat

sup guys. just getting back to the C-Dot
AWESOME NIGHT! A lot better than Talla IMHO.
Was nice to meet you guys for the first time. I won't name any names, because you guys know who you are, and I don't want to offend anyone by forgetting to put them in a list
Scores:
Viva: 7/10
Pros: Girls doing searches at the doors
Killer sound system as usual
Wicked light show, as usual
Cons: SHOULD HAVE KEPT THE ANIME REEL GOING THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT! I thought it was a very nice touch! But watching the DJ is slightly less exciting
And there were a few moments where the sound system killed me (mainly the vocals in Jurgen Vries - The Opera Song)
Peter Ivals: 8/10
I found it a little boring at first, but it kept getting better and better. Got me pumped for Hardwick.
Matt Hardwick: 9.5/10
HOLY FUCK!!!! Amazing. Simply amazing. One incredible track after another. I was having such an awesome time!
Minus .5 because he ACKNOWLEDGED my Sonorous shirt, but failed to play any Sonorous
Mark Oliver: 9/10
Lots of banging trance/techno/progressive. First time I've seen Oliver, and it was a pretty sweet finish to the night. Stayed on the floor for about an hour and half in, but then the pain in my feet started kicking in, so I just chilled out for the rest of the night.
Crowd: 4/10
TAs definitely had a presence (The Hardwick chant was awesome )
The rest of the people there... I dunno. There was those damn ginos (which Highroller mentioned) that kept invading the TA "space". Just watching those 2 cracked out Asian girls in the front made me feel crappy. Dance, dance, collapse, repeat. It was hurting me deep down inside . And there was some ordeal in the back during Oliver. Didn't see what it was exactly, I was just looking for a place to sit, and all of the sudden, I look to my right, and some guy is getting swarmed by security + nearby people. Crowd should have been going off, and they weren't.
Overall: 9.5/10
AWESOME NIGHT! HARDWICK OWNED THE HOUSE!
