i think it needs to progress past the cheesy synths and 4x4 beat & breakdowns. thats one of the reasons i dont listen to alot of the new stuff anymore ive heard it 100000 times before. I dont mind the more ambiant stuff like bozai trancelucid cd comp though.

MmmHmm...preach on brotha. I know what you mean. In fact, there's a name for it...or a few names...Ferry, Tiesto, Armin are just some connotations for overplayed Euro trance.
Don't get me wrong...I like it, but when one of them produces a new tune with the same structure and synths and breakdowns, and people jump on and praise them, it gets kinda annoying...

But thats structure for uplifting trance. Its the unwritten rule that all tunes must be that way. Its either 2 buildups and 2 breakdowns, or 1 buildup and 1 breakdown. What you're saying is like a rock fan saying "alright, we need to stop using guitars and move on to other instruments". That completely alters the genre.

Its not that the genre must progress, its that you should broaden your horizons and move on to other styles. Say if your getting sick of anthemic uplifting tracks, then try some progressive. You shouldnt complain about artists always using the same structure for their tracks, because all they're doing is producing what they like and what loyal uplifting fans like.

well, like was said before thats what trance is, i mean theres only so much you can do with it, like honestly what do you want, a miraculously different kind of sound for each song

it all comes down to overplaying it, and its only natural, the music itself is brilliant - it was when you first heard it right? it hasn't changed - its you thats changed (and i speak for myself too)

Yeah, Lieb has been favorite of mine in recent months. His remix of Jan Johnston's "Am I on Pause" Is outstanding, not to mention his mix of Utah Saints - Lost Vagueness

If any genre that you used to like is beginning to turn you off, the reason is probably that you've not been listening to a broad enough variety of music and are simply getting bored with it. If you listen to everything, you won't get sick of anything.
