My suggestions is pretty much what everyone else said....there's nothing wrong with just going up and talking to her. Just DON'T think about it, just walk up and do it otherwise you'll start creating rejection scenarios in your mind and lose the confidence to do it. As soon as you see her at lunch just go up and say "hi", then continue the converstion from there.

Your making this way harder than it is.

just say, what are you doing? or how are you? dont talk about yourself, talk about her. everyone wants to talk about themself.

by hesitating to talk to her. u make things worse. either:
1. she may realize u r stalking her
2. u start 2 secretly liking her to a point were u see her as "the best girl in school!!" this may make even less confident in yourself
the whole greeting thing is good
also..if worse comes to worse. u can stage an "unplanned" encounter.= bump into her in school.=> apologize...=> introduce yourself ..go from there.

oh.. just picture her as any girl not "the girl" that's all she is at the moment.
