I go for WinXP havent had a blue screen of death sins i install it so it stable win2000 is good to! Win95,Win98,Win98SE,WinME cant stand those os i remember i got daily blue screens you could do anything whitout get a blue screen..

If by best you mean most stable then I'd say DOS. If by a mix of features,stability,compatibility,etc. then I say XP or 2000.

While WindowsXP is just as good, it just looks like a cartoon version of Windows2000 Pro with a few XP nuances thrown in to make it look different.
I've been running Windows2000 now since Nov.2001 and I've had a whole ONE crash since.
