Depends on the person, but you could give it a try with minimal risk of any long-term effects.
I have a rare condition called non-24-hour sleep phase syndrome, which is usually found only in blind people whose bodies don't respond to the sun any more. I have great difficulty forcing myself into a 24-hour schedule; my normal rythm is usually about 34 hours (11 sleep, 23 awake).
