They key to doing that is to find a breakbeat song with the right type of beats. It's better for the transition to be longer that way people have time to adjust after the transition from a 4/4 style song to a breakbeat song. It can almost be like a bomb hit the dance floor if you do it too fast because nobody will really know what to do.

Try Deep Dish remix of "Planet Funk - Inside all the People", its
a really good breakbeat track that goes well with much about everything
and is really easy to mix in and out of tunes.

To suddenly kill all the bass on the 4/4 just as its starting to
phase out so the DD remix goes in on full power with its breakbeat
is totally overwhelming.

I think progressive with a very faint beat (instead of a really strong beat) is hard to mix good!!!

Breakbeat. Far too many beats going on for me to know whats happening
Tehcno. Techno doesnt have a stand out part where the beat stops or the melody comes in so its difficult to time it right.

I reckon that drum'n'bass and jungle are hard to mix, but thats coz I'm always mixing 4/4 and some breaks.

In terms of making a set flow, trance can be very difficult. Because you can have conflicts of melodies or bass keys. You have to plan trance sets usually. But trance is great for actual beatmatching.
