My bad, got my commercials mixed up... (don't watch TV that often)

And I won't tell you that drugs are bad for you, or that drugs are good for you... that's up to you to decide.

And the argument about alcohol killing more people than drugs, that's just stupid... if you drink too much, you will do some stupid shit, and that might cost you your life. Same thing with drugs - you take too much, well, the chances of overdosing are huge. Then again, there are probably not that many people that take too much drugs as compared to the amount of people drinking too much, but I don't really care. Moderation is the key... You decide what works for you, and where is it that you draw the line.

In response to DigiNut, bro, I've had my share of drugs, and from my own experience they are highly addictive (on a psychological level), and have some very bad effects on people's everyday lives (emotionaly, psychologically, etc). But then again, you wouldn't know much about it since you've never taken a pill before. Don't take this as an insult, but don't talk about something you haven't even experienced.

All right, now back to your originally scheduled programming...

i believe that its all relative to whos taking the drugs. some people let it fuck up their lives, some people dont.

lets not forget that you can EASILY sit down and kill yourself with alcohol. alcohol poisoning is a mother ******

Oh, you can fvck yourself up with almost anything these days... then again, it's your decision if you're gonna push your limits or just have a great time without (or with a very small amount) of drugs/alcohol/weed/etc.

I was trying to stay out of this, but I couldn't help it. Many good points have been made, here are a few more:

1. Yes, alcohol has huge social costs. Not only the things Tatgirl mentioned (effects on MANY parts of your body, drunk driving, alcohol poisoning\choking on your own vomit), but also domestic violence and other types of violence in which alcohol often plays a role. BTW, an extremely addictive substance. Remember, there was a prohibition in the 20's in the U.S. for a reason, but the government eventually gave up cuz people do what they want to do.

2. It is silly to lump all "drugs" into one group. I'll keep the discussion on E here for simplicity's sake. If there have been serious injuries from E use, it seems to me that is because it was illegal. The illegality means people can't always find a "safe" source or don't know how to do it properly (eg. taking too much, or drinking too little or too much). Now imagine you could get your favourite brand at the drugstore or bar where you know exactly what you're getting and how much of it, had clear instructions on what to do if you run into trouble (just like people taking their alcohol-poisoned friends to the hospital with no fear of consequences), etc etc. In other words, the "War on Drugs" seems to be the cause for most of the drug-related problems. This is a long debate though and not one I want to get into here.

3. There are no long-term data on consequences of using E (again, thanks to the War on Drugs ther is little or no research), so take as much risk as you're willing to, the less the better. I agree with others that you should not NEED drugs to have a good time, if you do then you may want to sit back and reflect on that. Even if MDMA was harmless, the fact that you never really know what's in the pills makes it risky.

4. The tax argument is a good one, but if E and other relatively harmless (I am NOT saying it's harmless, just that it seems not to be outright dangerous like say, heroin) drugs were legalized and provided in a safe manner, the gov could tax their use just like they do alcohol and cigarettes. Yeah, this will never happen in our lifetime.

5. I now fully understand what led to Tatgirl becoming so twisted. Stay away from drugs kids!!!

99% Hamrless????!?! Tell that to my Buddy who is now dead u idiot. Like Is aid. Bring some SCIENTIFFIC EVIDENCE to back that. Just wait till you're 30 and then we'll see. By the time you are 40 you Won't even Remember where u left your keys. Sorry toi flame ya, but I seriously think u are seriously deluded or perhaps u are so into E that u may consider rehabilitation.

E = 99% safe. We'll talk when u turn 30 and then 40.

ahh .. the great never-ending E debate..

i think a lotta ppl think it's a safe drug now, but as E*master said, wait till ppl who dose frequently turn 30 or 40 ..

i know the drug has been around a while now (since the 1940's i believe?) but we gotta remember that there hasn't been enuff scientific study performed yet on large populations who have consumed it over a long period of time. I don't think the people/rats who they tested it on back in the 1940's are still around today to show what kinda long term effects it has had on them.

Like I said before, taking drugs responsibly isn't taking it in moderation, rather being able to deal with the consequences of your actions and relationship with loved ones if something does go wrong.
