Funny gossip news I just had to share...this story is heard from my bro::[truth or not, take it with a grain of salt please]

Craig Richards (Tyrant,Fabric Resident) and Lee Burridge (Tyrant), both very talented trippy, tech-house DJs from UK spun at a club in S.E Asia. Very strict regulations everywhere in the region with regards to narcotics and drug policies.

Craig Richards is a party animal. He's known to play at 7am and all the way to 12-1pm in the afternoon. The reversal of clubbing, if you will. Very original. Anyways, Craig is a herb smoker. Listen to his music and you'll know what I mean. So in the club down in Asia, no herb allowed. Rumours had it, or people recorded the set and there was a distinction in the flow of the mixes. Some people attributed to this disruptive flow to the lack of herb to ease the mind and physical state.

My point is that tons of DJs out there smoke herb [healthiest among every other substance], snort Coke [extremely popular but it's a stimulant and the comedown is okay compared to the other popular dance culture substance, MDMA] and do a wide array of stuff to calm themselves down.

You could just take a caffeine pill to perk yourself up as a lot of attention is needed with regards to you, the DJ, working under dark-lighting conditions.

2 cents:: Arrive early. Condition yourself..this happens to anyone and everyone on their first try. These are electrical appliances if you will, you can control them very easily. The monitors [those facing you] can be adjusted to your liking [be it more treble, mid or gain] to blend in with the surrounding speakers --> to enable you a smooth and comfy area to conduct your mixing...

Actually I just spun a party on Saturday, and it went really well. For about two hours the actual basement was packed with ladies dancing, and a few smart guys too...got a ton of compliments from people who don't like trance at all. What sucked was I let this guy spin his jungle records when the floor was full so I could take a break, and he cleared my damn floor! It just wasn't the same after that, I guess you learn though. The great part was hearing a few girls tell me "The other guy sucks, but you're an awesome dj." And they didn't even notice my drunk ass trainwreck...

how typical! jungle is tight.. but it totally has that effect... it just doesnt sustain proper dancing.

long live 4/4

Yup. He did a stupid thing though, while he was spinning some of the chicks came up and asked him to play something faster, so instead of changing records he pitched the stuff up as fast as it would go..it sounded terrible, like chipmunk music.
