Um he's not saying different genres of techno. He means different genres of electronic music period. Ie he throws some trance in there occasionally because he produces the stuff. (it is GOOD to be very good in whatever genre you spin BUT there comes a point where you have to expand, move onto other stuff) Mauro can probably do that (I'm not saying Dave Clarke can't) but I'm just stating where I think the misunderstanding is. Relax both of you!
dave does the same by playing elektro in his sets even though he only produces tekkno...

some good points here, but i dunno why there is so much HYPE over Picotto? the guy has cheesey track selection, production's are well on a average 5/10. i agree Picotto is for newbies, Dave Clarke is just intelligent seen Dave twice and he knows reallly how to play around with the decks, sooo smoothly and ofcourse knows how to tear the shit apart

chris what i said is the truth ofcourse people have opinions but really when it comes down to basing it on facts, its just like that Picotto is famous, Dave Clarke underrated and a lot more intelligent, without any doubts

no offence to anyone, but Dave Clark is a lot better DJ than a lot of the trance DJ's and Mauro Picotto
his mixing is amazing as well as all the scratching and the mind blowing shit that he does behind the decks

Well, let me reemphasize - PICOTTO is THE KING !!!!
I don't understand why mixing skills play such an important role to you guys? Do you come to a party to judge a DJ, or to enjoy great music and the vibe? I think the latter should be the reason to come to a party!
Picotto creates a perfect techno and even somewhat trancy journey every time I see him and the vibe during his parties is absolutely off the hook. He is also very consistent, in fact, the only DJ whom I've enjoyed every single time I've seen him.

Mixing IS important. Even Mauro himself said it in an interview I have of a party he did in Ibiza. I'm not saying Dave Clarke is any different, I just haven't seen Clarke to tell the difference (except @ Idance)
