That's true. In the end, it's how we 'manipulate' the machine, but people seem to give up easily. At first I hated Fruity Preset sounds, but when I started making my own synths, I started to realize how cool the program is. So instead of giving up, I spent hours, weeks, and months making my own synths. It was hard, but it was worth it, since it really helped out a LOT, of my tracks.
Patience my friends...patience. Look at the work of artists like Lightworks (who's songs are amazing! Great use of VST's Lightworks, and good creativity Robstar!). I bet Lightworks had problems when he started, but he had enough patience to fulfill his dream of making great music, and now he accomplished it.
The user a few posts above (Extalin) made this cool Breakish, Trancey track. It was nice, smooth, and sounded like he used thousands of dollars worth of hardware equipment. Turns out he used a program that was affordable, and managed to win respect from all the users who heard his song, of many musical tastes. (Including mine, since I was doing a little remix lately!)
That's all I gotta say; Manipulate those machines, and be prepared to be locked up in your basement/rooms, tweaking those knobs. Later. -Mental
