Bush represents the country, but not the people .. he didnt get the popular vote so .. he does not represent the vast majority.

Another thing, the Anti-american subject in Europe is because of the actions, and sayings that come out of Bush's administration. Obviously, europeans think that AMERICANS think just like Bush, so they are like ANTI-AMERICANS.. sadly, ( for some, GLADLY) Bush's actions aare seen as if AMERICA .. not thinking that many americans are also thinking like the vast european countries. So, the anti-french thing on boycotting, is just totally different. Are the French doing an action that will affect the world ? ? no.. Its just the way they view things. Where as the US will ACT to what they think ! .. so its totally different hate .. if you know what I mean.

I don't like the guy but I'm not going to second guess his validity as President. As fucked up as the electoral system may be he did win it fair and square and therefore he does represent our country.

Meh, fine, here's some useful information:

These few individuals who choose to boycott will produce no visible results of any kind for France or for the U.S. so let them waste their time if it makes them feel better

Well, like I said, he doesnt represent the vast majority, but, in means that he IS the president, obviously does represent the country.
But not the vast majority .. you know what I mean ? .. hehe.

I dont understand where you are getting at ? .. Yes, MANY americans share the same views as Bush, as there's also MANY americans who dont. So, those AMERICANS who dont share the same views as Bush, are UN-PATRIOTIC ? The same goes for those who dont share Bush's views in Europe and the rest of the world. It doesnt make them Anti-Americans, just.. Anti-Bush.. but like you said, Bush represents the USA.. so, well, it could be Anti-American. This sounds like IM contradicting myself. but hey .. I hope you can understand my point.

No I understand what you're talking about. I'm merely saying that it isn't JUST Bush pushing this agenda forward. A lot of Americans agree with him, and yes a lot disagree with him too. For example myself ... I believe action of some kind should be taken in Iraq. If diplomacy fails ... then the use of force should be used. However I think the approach Bush is using is just plain stupid. No I don't think that people who are anti-war are unpatriotic. I just think a lot of them are idiots. That doesn't apply to anybody (well most people) on this forum. I just think that a lot of people are anti-war when they don't even fully understand the issues at hand. If you're going to stand for something at least be educated about it. Anyway back to the original point at hand, I agree with the second part of your statement that anti-Bush = anti-American because he is the representative of our country and it's not like he's leading us civilians around on a leash, forcing all of this down our throats.

hey i have the same thing to say about liberals. in fact, if you think about it, its ALWAYS the liberals, the activists, the peace loving freaks that are ALWAYS taking everything to the extremes, whether it be running down streets stopping traffic and holding peace signs, or bitching about somebody doing something illegal, when if fact they're doing something illegal while they're taking the time to bitch.

for example, theres a floating bridge over Lake Washington near my college. so these activists, or protesters, whatever we may call them decided to stop traffic on the bridge going 70 miles per hour to hoist a huge tripod, raise some person in it, and protest against the war. now what the fuck is that? that is fucking dangerous, endangering their own stupid lives, and others that are driving. they jailed them overnight, i wish they would have gotten run over by a car or swept into 40 degree cold lake water for pulling a stupid stunt just to "protest peacefully" as they called.

yes, i DID take it to the extreme, something i see mainly from LIBERALS ALL THE TIME.

as for my SIG, yes i'm sure it pissed off some French on the board, people i have nothing against, as i've chatted with a few on occasions. its nice to see that you guys see my sig totally conservative and stupid, which is the way i see many liberals views.

i'll take my sig down, there's no place for further negativity on here, and will replace with a US and Brittish flag instead to show my support.

I think that you been a Prog Slut answers all of it .. lol j/k.
There's extremes on liberals, and there's extremes on conservatives. Though, LIBERALS are more open minded, where as most conservatives, as the name calls it, are more close minded, who actually stay to their point, and STICK to their points and views, ignoring and not listening.. they are usually very strong to their case, very strict, and would stick to their laws.. not mattering what times we live in( Ex: Trent Lott ) .. but hey man, I respect on how you see things, dont take it personal.

enjoy the music man

to tell you the truth, i see it the opposite. yes, the liberals, are supposed to be open minded, but as i've experienced around here in Seattle (so called liberal city, but not really imo) liberal people are generally more rude, stick to their points are will not accept or compromise if their view is in jeopardy.

anyways though, i guess we see things differently, but i'll compromise, being the conservative poster boy and say its all goood!

yes, if there are enough people boycotting FRENCH products, France's economy will be hurt a bit, no?

I myself will boycott French products....i dont like their policies, reminds me of communism.

and to show my support i will write in big yellow bold letters "BOYCOTT FRENCH PRODUCTS - SUPPORT OUR TROOPS FOR JUSTICE"

HEH. Well see if that has some impact. And i will post sooo much that my sig will be seen by many on TA, maybe it will have some impact...

what's illegal about waliking down a street? it's public realm, streets have been made for walking on (and trading, and socialising) for thousands of years. i have more of a problem with people driving about in their big smelly cars (which kill more than cancer or famine worldwide), endagering everyone else who prefers or has no other choice but to walk or cycle.
