I have listen to rock and I have full respect for great bands suck as Nirvana, Metallica, Smashing Pumpkins, U2 and Gun's 'n' Roses. I can't really compare different genres of music. It all depends on my mood and what I feel like at the that time.

aha, the misunderstanding

some rock is ok, waltari arent bad imo...die die die etc (90 minute album with the finnish orchestra) is good for a listen now and then....

i still like trance better though

I think the feeling that 'trance' is just a guy pushing buttons on a keyboard stems from the fact that there is no 'live' instrumentation required for the production of the track. To me, it is beyond ironic that some of these people preach about the 'analog' nature of the "Rock" sound (sloppy, soulful)and all of that when what you are listening to on a CD has been post production edited and orchestrated into such precision that any imperfections you hear in the track are intentional the track is just a mere glimpse of what was actually played, that aside, i think it bothers them that one can not have any 'instrumental' knowledge and still produce a beautiful track.

Real trance has raw soul if you listen to the right stuff...

Just coz its played on a guitar and has a wailing vocalist...doesn't make it any more musical.
