Will you change your mind, believing the Bush does indeed tell the truth, that he does seek to disarm Iraq, and so forth?

I on the otherside, I will be outrightly disappointed if President Bush does not find weapons of mass destruction. Especially since he has rallied the war call around it, I will have a genuine distrust of him and further government officials if it is indeed found out that they had nothing.

So honestly, will you come here a month (or shorter or longer, however long the war will last) if and when Weapons of Mass Destruction are found and apologize for your views, and be willing to change them? I for one am.

no i will not change my views. i think war is wrong. saddam needs to be taken out though, but so does castro and zimbabwe why are we not fighting a war with them? the US needs to stop getting so involved and deal with its own problems first. lots of countrys have nuclear weapons, why do we not start a war with all of them and which would probally result in nuclear war....

just because there are other problems in the world doesnt mean we shouldnt go agianst all of them at once.

[sorry for a little off topic again]

the price is already being paid:
- the EU is split. My dream of 'Europe' as a country has been destroyed
-the UN has been kicked in the dirt by Bush, which shows the rest of the world that we cannot trust him to stick to an agreement he signs. (I was looking for a word here, but i cannot come up with it for the life of me)
etc.

I am off, time to get some work done.

tiesto14, I am afraid that you do not have that liberty.

Yoepus, this is a very good thread!! I really like the angle, and I will sincerely respond in this way:

If the U.S. finds WMD in Iraq I will not care, quite frankly. The reason is that it is an irrelevant matter whether or not Iraq has/had WMD's anymore. That matter should have been resolved 10 years ago when they first defied the UN. Now, it's just silly. Furthermore, why should I be concerned about the US crying about Iraq's WMD's when they themselves provided it, nay even encouraged the use of it against Iran long ago? Isn't this incredibly hypocritical, indeed the epitomy of hypocrisy?

However - if the U.S. leaves the oil in Iraq alone, then I might consider changing my views on the purpose of being in Iraq.

Of course, it's not such an easy answer. For all I know, this entire war might solely be occuring for the flexing of military muscle. Maybe even to show the world who is boss? Who knows, this might be explicitly declared some day... If that were to happen I would not be surprised at all.

But I digress. Essentially, Yoepus, what this all boils down to is this:

Close to Nothing will make me change my mind on why the US is illegally, immorally, and unjustifiably pursuing a ruthless war on Iraq.

Actually this isn't even a war! It's just mindless slaughter of Iraqis. It's essentially a live-action simulator.

(I bet those soldiers were sure getting tired of shooting up cardboard targets back at home....lol, back to seriousness)

After destroying Iraq 10+ years ago, the US is coming in to destroy the rubble. What good can come to the Iraqis through this at all?

This is why I am totally opposed to the war, was always totally opposed to it, and will always be totally opposed to it.

So, in a way tiesto14, you were right.

I'd say the biggest error the EU made was letting the British in. They slowed down the unification progress considerably. Every time EU votes on becomming more consolidated, the British always have to be against it and ruin all the effort.

well, it really depends on the circumstances.

if they indeed have the weapons, now is the time they would use them...so if they dont use any of the weapons, and then after the war has ended, the coalition forces suddenly find all the weapons, i would find it hard to believe that they weren't planted there

on the other hand, if they have them and they use them now, i mite change my mind.
