Paul van Dyk let Motorola use his song....gosh....moby has done it for yrs, telepopmusik - breathe, dirty vegas - days go by...basement Jaxx - where your head at...on a pringles commercial...I heard Oakenfold's Starry Eyed Surprise on a volvo commercial. Let's face it, lots of companies find it profitable. Let's remember moby's success, it sold him more albums and got him more popular and pushed his music to a wider audience.

Glass Ceiling

Why is there a glass ceiling for success for artists? When they're small, people want them to be bigger. Now when they're bigger, people want them to be smaller.

I, for one, didn't think Paul would do a commercial but I don't have a problem with it. I don't think any less of him as an artist for doing so and neither should anyone less.

Well said Scott....artists have greater public opportunities once they became popular/loved enough...the man should be given credit all the time....enjoy his music...thats it...

i want to see this commercial.
yeah alot of music of this genre is being used in commercials these days. people our age are making these advertisements and they like the music- so they put it in a commercial- what is the big deal?
personally i would not buy a motorola b/c pvd advertises it- i already have one, but that is besides the point. BOTTOM LINE is- i like what i like- adverisements do not influence me much.
