Makes sense, because amongst all these DJ's you people mentioned, I believe he's the most well known (even people who don't like electronic music know who he is.. in order to make him more "mainstream-friendly", local magazines here often say he plays rock'n'roll Reminds me of that time when Liam Howlett from the Prodigy received the "world's greatest rock star" award )

Yea i agree with most people, unfortunately its Oakey.
Not cuz hes the best, but because he has seniority and has been around for a while. Give PVd and Tiesto 3-5 more years and im sure they will get more than he does.

Last gig I played, I got paid with tips and and open bar.
Btw...Open Bar and Mixing Flawlessly do not fuckin mix!!!

I'd say whoever gets the most media coverage and individual event sponsorship and advertisement...

prolly... Ferry Corsten, PVD, Matt Darey, Paul Oakenfold, and the likes.

armin and ferry get nowhere near what Oakey/PvD/Tiesto get.

i'd say Oaky gets the most, with PvD/Tiesto coming soon behind.

PvD's fee is negotiable tho, depending on size of venue etc

One of the Montreal promoters said once that PVD charges more than Tiesto...
IMO Oakie does not deserve the money he's being paid. Not that many ppl care about him these days.

Oakie is without a doubt the highest paid, with PVD and Tiesto second and third, respectively.

This is from a Village Voice article in Feb:
"Snoops say that David Marvisi—clubland's new kingpin and the man behind Spa, Exit, Estate, and Capitale—shelled out $300,000 for the overrated superstar DJ Paul Oakenfold to play a total of three gigs. Oakie, as he is often called, worked rilly, rilly hard for the money (so hard for it honey), spinning at Exit on Thanksgiving and splitting his time between Exit and Capitale on New Year's Eve. And you wonder why everyone wants to be a DJ?"

Note: since this was published Marvisi's "empire" has hit the shitter--and it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy

My guesstimate is that Tiesto and PVD charge about 10-15,000 per hour---with great flexibility allowed for venue, time of year, city, total number of hours played, etc.
