It has to be said, you are so educated to critique Chicane and his work. In fact you know everything about him. He has two albums:
Far from the maddening crowds
Behind the Sun
He is a God and the release of his much anticipated next album by his fans has been too long in coming. I think Love on the Run is awesome. All artists change so you shouldn't expect them to create the same music. If they did it would be extremly boring when an artist like PVD released a new album because it would just be a clone of last one. From now on when you have crticism for an artist make sure you are showing an educated viewpoint. If you don't like the song just say so. When you question chicane for coming back without knowing anything about him as an artist, you prove your just an idiot spouting off.

I am a music critic. I say what i think. And i think "Love on the run" is less impressive of a song than any other from Chicane. Its his choice to change the music if he want. I will still say the true. Good or bad.

because comparing southern sun and venus is just stupid! the styles are just so different , completely. they have some things in common:
- female lyrics
- tiësto has remixed both
that's pretty much all i think. please specify why they are so similar in your opinion, so we can discuss this more reasonably.
Look now. Cor Fijneman is pretty good friend with Tiesto. If u notice they have kind of the same playlists in their sets. Now i have some information, and this is what happened. Tiesto did the remix of "Southern sun" for Oakenfold and he really liked the track. Now he thinks of making something similar. I dont know what was the reason why he didnt do it, but he tell his good friend Cor Fijneman to do something similar to this song and he may get the popularity he deserves. He said to him "Call some popular singer(Jan Johnston in the situation) and make something simillar. I will remix it and u will get some hit and get into the mainstream". I am not sure he said that exactly, but it was something similar. Now Cor Fijneman as i know was asking the help of Tiesto for long time now to make something so he can be well known. I think that track was his break. And i think he dont deserve a lot of credit for it. I respect his as dj, but this song is something unoriginal and just trying to get popular kind of thing. And i am not saying hate the song, but i am telling you whats the deal with it. And if u cant notice the similarity between the two...you have problems. Actually Tiestos mix is what make them so similar. Offcourse the whole for the song is his.
Thats i hope is something.

1. Making things up about Fijneman/Tiesto doesn't make you look intelligent.
2. Venus isn't mainstream when compared with Southern Sun.
3. VENUS DOESN'T SOUND LIKE SOUTHERN SUN.

As for Love On The Run, I like it but I'm not surprised at the flak it's recieved. For one, Nick Bracegirdle's absence from the scene was so long that any comeback short of an absolute miracle would have left people saying, "but... but... Saltwater was better." We're easily blinded by nostalgia and it's hard to judge new works by their intrinsic value as opposed to their nostalgic appeal. In these cases the old tracks almost always win. Furthermore, it's a style slightly different from his old productions. A bit housier, a bit groovier. All the better, I say. Many producers get ripped into for repeating the same sound and one could hardly fault Nick in that respect.
Couldn't agree more except with the house statement (i wouldn't call it house). It's kinda that saying, "the older i get, the better i was". People always want artist to stay the same but they change. Nell is right about Nick saying he wants to move more torwards the pop scene.
