hmm i hear there is demand for merchandisers too but u need contacts like anywhere to get in....the only profession u can get in the easiest without contacts is as an RN
Hmm.. then I guess you have to consider your motives for moving to Toronto. I've been to Vancouver once in my life. My dad moved to Canada alone when he was 18 from Hong Kong. He started out in Vancouver and later, moved to Toronto. He says the opportunities are much better in Toronto than in Vancouver. But aside from working, my dad has never done much else.
He took us, the family, back to Vancouver a couple years back. I really enjoyed it. Anything and everything in Vancouver has a view. The tempo of the city is much slower, laid back... more relaxed. For the week I was there, I also thought that Vancouver was a very cultured city.. more so than Toronto. Although I was young then and still am now. I'll be the first to tell you I'm a city guy, but Vancouver does have its merits. The condo development there and the 'small shop' thing I really like.
I wanted to apply for UBC this year, but my parents wouldn't let me. I've heard the UBC campus is second to none and its really close to Vancouver. I have a friend that goes there and she really enjoys it.
This may sound cheesy.. and maybe odd... but I find more beauty in the city of Vancouver than I do Toronto... maybe because its calmer. Its definitely great here in Toronto - all the amenities of an american city with a Canadian culture. But around here, you're always trying to accomplish or do something.. rushing somewhere.. rarely able to make time for others if you're working... Although I cant say that from first hand experience.. it generally is the case.
Moving is always a huge decision especially if youre moving to another city.. You'll always miss something you had back in Vancouver.. Its not what you can gain from moving.. but what you can't stand to lose...

If you move to toronto you may experience some weather that reaches -40'C with windchill. That is pretty cold, it kind of feels like the arctic.. actually you cant really feel anything because it is just so cold. But on the plus side, you can get around toronto pretty well underground. There are many many underground walkways, malls, shopping areas, all connected together, and all with access to the subway. Depending on where you're going, you can stay underground for alot of your travels.

Well, yeah, you gotta make up a list of things you can't really stand losing and the list of things you will gain by coming to Toronto... here, let me help you out with the few things that await you here in T.O:
- cold winters that last 8-9 months a year, with temperatures getting as low as -30 (and then some windchill on top of that too)
- cold people (except for the people from other countries or cities)
- days that feel like they last 12 hours since you're always in a rush to do things around here no matter what!
- a great party scene...
- more job opportunities (but more competition too).
