well i initially thought i couldn't afford to go to this but in the end some things changed and at 8pm i decided i'm going so i bought my ticket at chaddy i have to say if i didn't go i would have regretted it hehe.
got in a bit after 12, suprised jolz , hung around a bit to take it all in then headed down the front and said hi to everyone for the start of mark james.
i really enjoyed that, finishing off with h&h remix of yet another day, which brought back memories of my lost backpack argh
also played theme from supakane and some remix of greece 2000, it was a good set i thought.
next up was scott alert i think, from hard kandy. i thought he was surprisingly good, and was a crowd favourite with all the kandy kids coming up to see him and squishing us all in. i tell you what, if you were claustrophobic or afraid of big crowds, you did NOT want to be at qbh last night!! farrk it was insane! no room at all!
scott played some alright stuff, i wasn't that into it but a lot of people around me were, as they kept on yelling "go scotty!!!!!" hehe it was funny. then when he played 'magic impulse - exposure' i went nuts, and it was my turn to yell out 'go scotty!!' hahaha much to jolene's embarrassment, i also yelled out 'finally a good track!' haha i wonder if he heard me i was going off to that track but just about nobody else was hehe. a couple of times the crowd did go off, it must have been a hard kandy anthem or something. he played 'rui de silva - touch me' which was nice too, but i was at the bar at the time and couldn't enjoy it properly.
then paul "i'm a hippy" van dyk popped his head around, sporting the "no war" t-shirt and peace gestures, and we all cheered and seeing as i was enjoying scott alert i restrained myself from telling him to fuck off and we want paul van dyk, so there were no 2 tribes antics from he hehehe
so he started off with 'nothing but you', and with the exception of a couple of tracks didn't really let me down, it was great stuff, harder than armin but not really cheesy nrg style. no problems with equipment unlike adelaide, and no real trainwrecks or bad mixes too. it was just really good, a lot of energy. he jumped and danced around a fair bit, pumping the air, but didn't really interact with the crowd, just a few smiles and stuff for photos. at least he was moving around though. after the debacle of 2 tribes i wasn't gonna bring a backpack or anything so i just had 2 covers in my pocket to get autographed, and pvd came down after his set to sign stuff and get photos taken, duncan was closer so he took my stuff and thanks to him i have my politics of dancing and out there and back album covers signed, cheers mate!
i think waxology was filming it too so there might be some video of the dyk in action. i introduced myself to someone who i assumed was miss vandit, if it wasn't then sorry! after pvd finished we made our way upstairs for the last couple of tracks from steve, lol, when he was trying to mix into or out of solarcoaster i think the next dj accidently knocked the set up, which is hanging from the roof, and the record skipped and farrrk u should have seen the look on steves face lol!!! that was a glare if i ever saw one.
so yeah it was a good night and im glad i decided to go
one of my autographs:
the disk with the other one on it is stuffed so i cant see it
can't be stuffed putting in tracklisting because they are all in other threads anyway
