The first Tib. looked better.

Huyndays are good because you get a lot of bang for your buck--they throw technology, power, and extras that you'd typically find in more expensive cars.

but they're generally shitboxes. They can't handle much wear and tear, and young people in cool-looking sporty cars are apt to put major wear and tear on their rides...

Plus, I think the Tiburon is slightly overpriced. With the same money you can get a hooked-up Civic EX coupe, a sporty toyota Matrix or Celica, or the Nissan Sentra Spec-V (which is a rocket) -- All three of these cars can easily be hooked up and they're way more reliable than the Tiburon.

You may also want to spring a little more loot and get the quality of an Acura RSX, which is a sweet little ride, or a lower end Audi A4.

With the 20 grand you're probably gonna be dropping, you may also want to look for high-end used cars. You can get a factory-approved used car in great shape, that looks and feels brand new. My neighbor recently bought a 2000 GS300 from the Lexus dealership for 26,000 grand with 30K miles on it, and it's an excellent car. With 20g's you can rock a late model 3-series Beamer or a used baby Benz.

just some thoughts...

That second kit is fucking TIGHT. Insane styling. You have to be flashy as fuck yourself to pull it off, and you'd definatly need something under the hood besides a straight 4 or some shit. Get the 6 cylinder with a chip and a turbo dropped in it and you could pull of the second kit. Not to mention you would HAVE to have dual chrome exhaust with at least 3 inch tips or you'd get laughed at for the rear bumper.

Hook that shit up and sport it man. Tibs are nice for styling, and you can always drop things in under the hood. The first kit is ok, but it's really low profile, and if you are spending that much on a kit, put on something flashy. My Shogun kit for my Probe was 1,400...Well worth it in my opinion.

Man, that kit is one of the best I've seen.

I disagree, the tiburon is probably the best value you can find.

The tiburon GT-V6 costs $17,999. 170hp.
The Civic EX $16,810. 127hp.
Celica is $17,305. 140hp.
the sentra at $12,099. 126hp.

Plus, the 130hp stock tiburon is cheaper than the civic and celica.

And I wouldnt say these other cars are more reliable. The 2003 tiburon hasnt been around long enough to judge how reliable it is. Perhapse Hyundai used to be a cheap car manufacturer with poor quality, but in there recent years they have improved tremendously. It is unfair to judge a car's reliablity based on an old view of the manufacturer.

Anyways, if you want to go ahead and drive a Hyundai, go ahead. I know some people that chose that route and ended up regretting it. That 10yr/100,000mile warranty is there for a reason, they say. Anyhow, are you looking for a car for a short-term project? Or a long-term project then plan on selling it? The resell value of Hyundai's are not good at all, if that helps at all. Personally, I would go with a GTI or something of that nature, korean cars just aren't up to expectations YET... maybe soon though, they are growing in sales because they are low-priced.

it may be "unfair" but that's how REPUTATION goes... Especially on an investment like a car when you can easily spend $15,000 (based on the prices you gave). Oh yes, and the other guy was talking about the Sentra SE-R Spec-V (not the base Sentra you listed) The Spec-V comes 175hp/180lbs-ft from a 2.5L inline4. MSRP is about $17,739 taken from www.cars.com

Hyundai's are POS... Buy yourself a used 325, or save up some more and just get a 95 M3! You wont regret it.
