oakenfold use to play pvd tunes...

IMO thats when pvd put more effort into his productions..his tunes were soo complex and electrofying...remember pvd-Words (For Love) (Original Mix)...pvd vs tilt-rendevous(sooo dark and very deep)

maybe pvd's tunes have "evolved" backwards..lol..not bashing him cuz his sounds is unique but may not be any big dj's cup of tea...since his sound is lacking DEPTH IMO..nowadays

pvd=1999...depth..complexity

pvd=Now....unique.stale/not deep/party guy..love him or hate him

There is no "Politics" no pun intended...(PVD) in what a DJ decides to play. He plays what he likes or what he thinks the crowd is going to eat up. I don't think they have quota's. For instance, I highly doubt Tiesto goes....ahhhh I wonder what people are going to think, I haven't dropped a PVD track in a while, I better drop a PVD track, or vice versa.

Armin Van Buuren dropped For An Angel at Creamfields 2002...
he also dropped Ligaya (which is essentially Ferry) at Gatecrasher NXT last november...

It must be said though, paul van dyk productions dont get played as much by other DJs as paul plays their stuff (if that makes any sense? )

These guys are all on crack...

The only reason I ever started listening to PvD in the first place is because Oakenfold loved to drop the needle on his records back in the late 90's. Ever heard of the Tranceport album? helllloooooo?

When he came here to Minneapolis in 2000 he dropped Tilt v PvD - Rendezvous which is like one of my all time favorites as well as Words.

Re: Paul Van Dyk tracks...

I know what you guys are saying is true but I still believe my theory stands, pvd, tiesto and armin have so many tracks, they may play a couple of each others tracks now and then but you must note that they mostly play tracks from other artists, and marco v tracks don't stand in this case as pvd was ranked #4 whereas marco v was down to #29. PvD tiesto and armin are leading the trance scene right now and I expect them to play less of each others stuff.

I also agree 110% with the fact that pvd has his own style and that is the reason why other top djs wont play his tunes. As they are top djs aswell they most probably have their own style and taste in music and pvd tracks would not fit their sets.
