Got inside the Guvernment at about midnight.
It was already packed like crazy.
So I went to find out how much was the wristband to get into KH.
$35!!!
Too much for me.
So I decided to see what's going on in the washroom corridor from KH to Orange Room. Luckily for me they just blocked the corridor, but didn't lock the door
So I was able to see Sven spin for about half an hour before heading back to the Guvernment for the start of Oakenfold's set. Sven was good, but I wouldn't say that he was amazing. But then I only saw him for half an hour and it was right after I got in when I wasn't feeling the vibe as good yet.
I saw the start of Oakenfold's set, but couldn't take it longer than 15 minutes in the Guvernment. I've never seen it as packed as it was yesterday! You know, I don't mind grinding against girls, but not guys! But seriously, if there was a fire in the Guvernment last night, at least half of the people would have stayed there forever.
Since I couldn't take it inside the Guvernment and I was worried that if I got into KH I wouldn't be able to get back to the Guvernment where my friends and my jacket was, I stayed in Charlie's for most of the night. The DJ(s) there was throwing down some nice breaks.
But after some time I got bored of staying in Charlie's and decided to try to get in KH. I saw Mauro spin from 3 till 4. I gotta say that I loved what I heard, and the vibe was just so awesome!!
I had a pretty good time overall.
P.S. Just because I have a bottle of water in my hand and I dance like crazy doesn't necessarily mean that I'm on E.

hah shush!
- me being in my underwear watching a movie 1 hour prior to making it out. Thank you Lisa!
- the story of RJ frisbee tossin a rekkid to Oakenfold. insane man.
- seeing mirza do the collar flip 75 times in 10 mins only to run after a girl 1/19 of the way through Sven's set.
- my fav quote of the night: "I feel like the way Ilya looks" BAHAHAHAHAH
- Kurfew passing out and gone missing in action FOR 2 HOURS!?!?
- RJ and I waiting for light shows, hahha.
- jackin' a cigarette from Graham while he wasn't looking, the look on Raymonds face
- meeting the cutest couple ever (Curtis and Christine)
- passing around the picture of Eva in my wallet to pretty much every single person in the club (africa ca ca ca)
- Cono Sur and Tordan, the duo that keeps me laughing all night
- those effin Hullaballo kids from London. I felt so bad for them, what were they thinking?!?
- technoaddict making a puddle of water on the floor so that he can maneuver faster during Sven's set. HAHAH WICKED!
- me absolutely LOSING my shit to Dekoze playing "This Beat Is (all over my body)".
- seeing Sarah ACTUALLY DANCE! shock horror!
Ok so to be honest, I thought Picotto was really really NOT my type of music. He actually gave me a headache. He had his moments and for the most part the crowd worshipped him. But ultimately I felt like his mixing was incredibly sloppy and he lulled (down time filler tracks) more than any set I've even seen spun in my life. Really lacked the energy that Sven had. You know how Mauro does that thing where he moves his hands and mouth to the weird sounds in his tracks? Well it annoys ME SO BAD. I feel like I'm watching some 2 year old dance in front of his family at christmas dinner. God he looks stupid.
BUT (imo) the reason Mauro was so blah for me, was because Sven rocked the house. SOOO DIRTY AND SOOO ELECTRO. Effin loved it! He had me dancing my ass off and at many times you could tell the experience and talent behind this guy. From the first track (opener) Sven had me pretty much shaking my head in disbelief at how original his programming was. HOWEVER, I felt like Sven didn't really PUSH the envelope and bring us to that "other level". Meh
Mauro = 6/10
Sven = 8.2/10
What made this party an overall 9/10 for me was the wicked crew we had going. The party in the back end of the club was awesome. So many ta's and so many new faces (usally because I'm at home in my underwear during the techo nights).
Shouts: Maxtuh, DjMoonshine, Ray and Margs, Richie (what did mom say?), Cono Sur, Tordan, TechNO Addict (my once again dancing partner in crime), John & Emery, R.J, Walter Mindzzz, SeventhSun, Mobius (sleepy carlos), Trancegeek, Crazed Canuck, Dea (duh you're hot), Mirza, Motion, DIGINUT (zoot), Trigger, Waxen, Kurfew, Tatgirl, tomeboy, Kevin Earth (I THINK!?), Sarah, Swamper, and the list goes ON AND ON. thanks for such a great time boys and girls.
P.S DEKOZE FOR PRESIDENT. The guy is always on his game.

I had a great time, I'm always in a good mood when I get to see
Deko-ze spin, and he had me moving early off in the night. Sven Vath was amazing, opened up really well and steadily got harder and dirtier from there.....99.9 was definitely the highlight of the night for me. Picotto was good, but as many have mentioned already he wasn't as good as Vath. I found that he started off good, but then dropped it down a notch, and by the time he brought it back up I was too tired to care.
It was great partying with you all;
Jon (Halo20)I wasn't sleepy.....I was ummm bored,
John(Ezikiel) Thanks again, you da bod man!,
Emery(Desidel),
Chris(endlesswave),
Sarah(waxen),
Sarah(skipper) thanks for the CD!,
Jeff(Technoaddict) nice meeting you,
RJ(rabbit joker),
Aaron(diginut),
Jason(conosur),
Ray(gamma),
Margaret(stereo princess),
Rich(24/7),
Nadia,
Nat & Graham,
Dea(brunette),
Dan(Trancegeek aka Mute),
Curtis (malice) & Kevin (Kevin earth),
Roger (High on PSI),
Vince (Neon alien),
trigger nice meeting you,
tommy boy nice meeting you too.
Damn that's quite a list, it probably would have been easier to simply say "big ups to the crew on the stage in the back"
Ok time to go do some homework WOOT!

I think i was on the same page as everybody else, because i had no idea what oakey was gonna do. He played real hard, which i think, the crowd wanted. He took a cue from the end of Liquid Todd's set, which i have to say, was very good.
Oakey played the one song i never heard in a club, and always wanted to:
amoebaassassin - piledriver
Now i can die a happy man, i was singing along the entire time!
It was very crowded, but that was to be expected for $15 for oakey. But it was all worth it. THe coat check line was crazy at the end of the night, took so long to get my dam jacket!
I bought a nother oakey shirt, the long sleeves one this time.
Does anybody know what the forgein writing on the shirts mean? I think its the same writing thats on the cover of his Great Wall cd.
Im glad people had a good time, cause i know i did! see you next time!

That's ok though...I went for Sven, and I had him. |
Were you able to work up the courage to propose to him?
That was an awesome night. First time I've ever gotten to see such a huge group out for a techno event. Sven's electro beats seriously ripped me a new one.
Picotto was good - if nothing else, he really had the crowd going. It was probably his best set I've seen in Toronto, although I suppose it still didn't compare to the sets from Liebing, Beyer, etc. But keep in mind, fellow techno addicts, that the crowd Picotto was playing out to would not have been interested in those kinds of beats. The crowd wanted him to bang it out hard, and he did that, even if his set didn't have much funk to it.
I was not at all disappointed - 9/10 for Väth and 7/10 for Picotto.
No shoutouts - there are just too many to mention - you all know who you are though. Thanks for making the night complete!
P.S. Sarah, edit the thread title you goof! It's your thread!
