The scene in some parts of the country is actually HUGE, it's a big freakin country you know? All parts of big edm countries in other parts of the world don't have HUGE edm scenes. The scene near me (Detroit) is soso at best but we get big names and i'm near enough a lot of big clubs (The Gov in Toronto) so i'm happy.

I just got back from Ireland and went to Godskitchen in Dublin @ the point theatre, and I must say that the biggest thing i noticed that was different from a rave from there vs a rave here are 2 things:

1 is that i felt so much more relaxed and less tension at that rave than at ones over here in the states. I think its because there ARE those clubkids and people are just around to have fun, unlike in the states where you get the suave looking guys looking for the hoochie girls and this brings on all sorts of competition.

and the other thing is that there seemed to be more drugs at this concert, like everyone was rolling it seemed. The one's ive gone to here didn't seem to have this feel at all, wich definitly changes the vibe (good or bad i duno). I havn't gone to many clubs here, but from what ive found there just isnt the same vibe, its more tension like the feeling "if you dance with the wrong girl you could get your ass kicked while walking home" kind of thing.

Just the front post showing the clubkids as a bad thing, i think we just judge way to much over here in america, if we were to just accept it all and go along with the vibe of the show it would make things a lot better. Like i duno if people here are into the Grateful Dead or any of the hippie music like STS9 but those kinds of concerts create a great vibe, just happyness, drugs or no drugs and its all because people are just accepting of one another and all there for the same reason, to have fun.

I duno i have trouble explaining how i think it is but hopefully you get what i'm saying.

Just the scene in Socal isnt that healthy to be honest.

Im not all anti candy kids but promoters are charging like 25 bucks to see a couple of locals and everyone else who goes gets all sorts of f*cked up.

Not alot of these kids go for the muzik ne more thats what bugs me. When someone says drugs make the muzik better its not true at all. I heard a dj say one time if the music doesnt give you that high or cant keep you dancing all night why not stay home turn on your speakers and get wasted at home?

I agree with the whole tension too. I feel that if I go to say hi or meet someone that some guy will get all pissed off at me and try to kick my ass.

Alot of the kids are drama as well. They start rumours and most of the parties you go to you see everyone outside just gossiping while the poor djs are inside with almost no crowd and alot of the djs out here have some damn fine talent.

This is coming from someone who used to enjoy it not to long ago either.

And im sure alot of ppl are gonna say well its been this way forever and I understand that fully but not to long ago I got my moneys worth and met alot of great muzik lovers.

I don't think EDM is dead @ all.

And I think the scene is perfectly healthy still. Admitedly, it's not like it was in 1999, but hell, that was the best year we could have ever hoped for. I think it's just the new guys on top that's making people a little leary.

Cool just wondering. Didn't expect that model to be from A-town though. Small world.
