The music at LoL was insanely good. I thought the vibe of the crowd was amazing, but the whole place was just too crowded..

We got there really early.. Heard MO drop some dirty tribal beats before heading over to guv for Demi's opening set - which was KILLER!!!
Spent almost his entire set front & centre.. dancing and screaming like a maniac.. The space during the early part of his set was a godsend...

once it got too packed, headed up to check out Skybar.. where Brad Goldfinger was absolutely killing it.. spent maybe an hour up there dancing, when i received the perfectly timed SMS from SP which convinced me to head down to the insanely rammed guv for diggers..

DIGGERS. HOLY FACK. This set destroyed his recent appearance at system. Such SOLID tunage.. No room to dance at the front with everyone trying to get somewhere else.. Dancing circle didn't help. After about an hour and a half, headed out to smoking area for a break.

Even the damn smoking area was PACKED.. stood by the bar complaining to Digi how pissed I was while digweed dropped choon after fucking choon. Finally needed to get some serious bass to the face. Back into guv.. took 20 minutes to get myself to the bathroom.. stood in line for 10 minutes.. on the way out thought about hitting skybar again, but there was a huge crowd around the stairs, so avoided them, headed through the KH out to the tent outside where Sydney Blu destroyed me. I literally couldn't stop moving for about 3.5 hours. Tunes were great, room to dance, fresh air. The tent was a godsend, dunno what i would've done otherwise..

Left around 8:30.. by that time I was certain another attempt at getting to skybar would be pointless, and my body was exhausted (more from the pushing and shoving than from dancing )

still feel like i should've just hit Carte Blanche tho

ill keep my review short & sweet.

IT WAS A AN AMAZING NIGHT!!

ran into alot of people who i haven't seen in years, and starting to meet alot more TA's (ive only been on TA for just over a month, been to two shows since i signed up... and meeting soooo many people!!)

only downside of the night for me was that an old hip injury resurfaced. I had to spend alot of time sitting down. but bless the man who invented tylenol ultra!! I still danced and made it through the night, cherry beach until 3pm and finally passing out at 2am Tuesday Morning. - pretty well slept through the entire day on tuesday, and thats why im writting this now (wednesday @ 6pm)

Im glad i got there early (10:30 ish) the KH was already filling up whlie Mark O was spinning. Lots of ppl on the floor. waited for a few more friends to show up then we headded over to the Guv (12ish) at first every was cool, lots of room, not too crazy... after about 15 minutes the place was mad packed!!! they should seriously do something about how many people they let in at one time. Headed back to the KH. for the rest of the night, i seriously needed a place to sit down. at a few points in night when i heard a few sick tracks ie.. (Blank & Jones: Mr Brightside) and AVB's Shivers. I bolted onto the dance floor: DFC. needed to dance or die trying.

shout out for: Haris (for supplying the T.U's), Fahad & Jenny, Nada & Ali, Jen, Tyler, Dan (ill get a pic with you next time), lisa (was suppose to chat with you, next time) Paula (i just remember saying.. what you know Tyler!?! and your on TA!! OMG me too ha..) Cam, Tall-Dan, Alison, Kurt.... lots lots more.

Once again, amazing night. cant wait until next time.

Crazy ass night

It all started when I got off work at 1:15 (first shift as a shift Manager at Pizza Hut... took a while) and I got to the club around 2, by 3, I was in to catch an hour of B&J. It took me about 30 minutes to warm up and get groovin, then another 15 to get the cramp outa my system (stupid eating in line lol).

So by the end of B&J I'm literally front and center and then Armin gets on the decks. Ridiculous, I go to clubs to dance, not get smushed in a giant collection of sweaty, smelly, fanboys. Good thing I noticed the intro to Halcyon coming up, got my ass to the middle of the crowd where there was space and let loose (I've been waiting to hear this song played in a club happy happy me!). Then I went and got my water, and suddenly I hear the intro to Rachel Starr - Til there was you (DeepDish remix?) So I go nuts again, because I love that song (I like the original better, but I can deal with a remix )

So there I am, flowing around the crowd looking for those pockets of space that appear for 3 minute intervals in the middle of the crowd, and eventually end up front-left to find IllNada dancin it up with a bunch of people... which is just what I was looking for, because I thought I was the only one in that fucking club trying to dance and not just say "Wooo, I was at AAARRRRRMMMIIIIIINNN". So then I was happy.

Eventually I got hungry, and walked outside to cool off and found that dude selling Pizza Hut slices. After being denied my 50% employee discount (LOL pure jokes) I ended up paying the 4 bucks for the food I can get for free any time and chowed down. Went back inside JUST IN TIME (THANK GOD) for Crush (some crazy ass sped-up remix that's in PvD's live @ energy set) and I go crazy AGAIN! So many kickass tracks tonight, but Armin doesn't take you on that trance-journey that I like so much We need Nick Warren and Kenneth Thomas to swing by for a night... mmmmmmmm.

So.... yeah, Armin kicked my ass tonight anyway, which was nice, because usually I'm dead before he even starts spinning, so getting there really late ended up being a good thing (except I missed Marcus.... I was looking forward to some good prog).

Also, the floor was really wet, and I was sliding all over the place when I was trying to dance... I found that annoying too.

Didn't even bother stepping foot in the Guv, I knew that place would be packed solid, wish I coulda stuck around for the end of DD though

Official Review:

Well it's kinda hard to describe the feeling and the sensation of LoL at this point but all I can say is I'm just soooo happy that I could walk today!!!!!!!! Yes it's been 3 days but today I finally started to walk again!!! I think that tells you that I liked Labour of Love just a lil bit

HOLY FAWK!!! This year's LoL was not only the party of the year for me (and it takes a lot of balls to say that for someone who bows to Tiesto and just absolutely lost it at Danny Tenaglia) but it was much much better than last year's event. First of all I wanna say thanks to the guys who designed the stage set up at the KH. WOW!!! I haven't seen a set up like that for a while. Terrific job!!

Started off the night with a bbq at my place and dj reza (rT19) spinning some hardcore shit to pump us all up for LoL. Some massive Tiesto and Marco V shit was dropped but when I heard Purple Haze - Adrenaline I didn't want to go anywhere!! (good thing they played it twice at LoL!!) Sux that most TA's were busy that night b4 LoL but hey there's always next time!! Maybe a pre Guv party on the 9th? Hmmm we'll have to wait and c. After several pick ups and stops on the way we finally made it to Guv at around 10:30ish. Line up was pretty big at that point however it did go by fast. Were waiting for some ppl to show up but when 11:00 hit and Markus hit the stage at the KH, I couldn't wait for nobody so I left Guv to go and see the dj I've been dying to see for a long time now (you guys might remember my posts from like earlier this year "when is markus coming to t-dot???"). And boy did he ever put a smile on my face as soon as I walked into the KH hearing Find!! Just the kind of entrance I was looking for!! Too bad I missed Hammer & Bennett's Language, one of my recent favs. Matthew Dekay's BAD, Markus' Without You Near, Open ur eyes (markus' mix) and of course Purple Haze - Adrenaline were my highlite tracks from his set but what I will remember for a lifetime is Markus Schulz stepping down to thank everyone and showing his appreciation for Toronto when Satellite was playing!! Holy shit I'll never forget that, I literally wanted to cry b/c I didn't want his to leave!! Can't wait for his next return trip to t.o.

When Grayarea came on, I literally walked away into the Guv while holding my ears!! Just a lil too loud for me!! Maybe it's not my style but from the first song they played, I said to myself I'm not missing Digweed for this and so left to see him. The vibe at the guv was unbelivable!!! Different crowd and vibe from the KH of course, but I loved it!! There is no dispute that Diggie has one of the best technical skillz on this planet but like several people have said, you gotta get the crowd behind you and move just a lil bit. I think he spent more time talking to his buddies on the side there than looking at the crowd. Maybe that is why Deepdish will always be more popular than Digweed - crowd interaction. Anyway stayed to see Digweed for an hour b/c somebody was coming on at the KH - somebody who I literally came to see!! While at Guv, had the funniest text conversation with Nada. Something down these lines:

Me: "Nada, wtf r u???"
Nada: "Vlad, I'm at the Guv, come here"
Me: "I'm at the Guv too, meet me in front on patio in 5"
Nada: "Ok I'm here, where r u"
Me: "I'm in the front, on the stairs"
Nada: "Me too, on the left side"
Me: "Ummm I'm on the right" (looking left)
Nada: "Wtf I don't see you"
Me: "Fuck it's 1:58!! Meet me front & center at KH NOW!!!"

And then I just took off to the Kool b/c I couldn't miss a minute of B&J!! This is what I came to see!! Got there at perfect time, just before they dropped City of Angels!! Blank and Jones were always one of my favourites, always right there knocking on Tiesto's #1 spot, but after one of the best 2 hour sets I've seen in a long time, they might just be pushing Tiesto out of the way very soon if Tiesto keeps doing what he usually does when he's in T.O. and that is just taking off on us. There was one point at LoL when I thought to myself that music could not just sound any better than this and that is when B&J dropped Ron Van Den Beuken's Sunset followed by Perfect Silence and Mr Brightside!!! Nada - thanks for yelling my name when you heard Perfect Silence , unfortunately I don't think I could of heard you but you know I actually texted you when I heard the first beat of that song I knew it was finally coming!!! And my fav mix too!! Tijs never dropped it @ the Docks but I knew that B&J would!!! I swear I looked up, imagined you going literally insane to this song somewhere in the front and wished that we could dance to that one together b/c u know how much this song means to me!! But like you said, there's always a next time!! Nu Nrg's Dreamland, Purple haze in your face one more time, Cream and what a way to finish with Mind of the Wonderful!!! I was singing that song going absolutely insane b/c it was their last track and they too were giving their appreciation!!

Then came ARMINATOR!!! Personally, the last couple of times I've seen Armin here in Toronto, it kinda got a lil boring at times, especially that time he came to the guv b4 decadence, i think it was like november of 04. But all that behind, I've always enjoyed Armin's sets and he's definately up there with the rest for me. Maybe I just like the hard Armin more than the melodic Armin. And that is exactly what he played this time at the KH, HARD!!!!! First time hearing Zocalo, nice way to start things up!!! Andy Moor's Halcyon and MAtt Dekay's Digifruitella were good preparations for one of the songs of the night for me Rachell Star's Till there was you (G&D 12 step prog mix)!! INSANITY ALL OVER THE PLACE!!!! Other fav tracks for me included Dogzilla's Without you, marcel wood's cherry blossom, Armin's shivers (what a crazy mix!!), PVD's crush, Communication of course, and nice way to end with Cafe del mar, clocks and silence (my fav mix after A&B dropped it). The problem with Armin this time for me was that I leterally couldn't move at all!! I tried to dance but I couldn't!! And for those of you know who me, and know how I dance, it's hard to imagine me NOT dancing, especially for Armin!! My legs gave up on me this time, but I guess that's the way it should be without taking any of those magik recovery pills!! When I left at 8 i think I might of been just the ONLY sober person in the whole complex!!! At one point at the end, I went to take a seat at the back couches b/c I just wanted to blank out but kept going back in when I heard bombs being dropped!! The only part I regret is missing out on two of my just maybe all time greats (way out west - mindcicus and of course yet another suburban train). That part really sucked!! I would literally pay another ticket just to go see those two BOMBS!!!

TA's were once again front and center for this one!!! Cept this time we were all over the place after time went by. Some ppl went to pass out at the back couches, others went to Guv, some went elsewhere (like that guy who went OD after 4 bouncers carried him from back side of KH into the showers, did anyone else see that???) I actually managed to drop by skybar and saw deepdish (say hello!!!!) for like 15 while armin was spinning at like 7ish.

Great to see all the TA's again!!! And nice to meet some new ones: Sean Cassidy - nice to finally meet you man, ur a super trance guru, nice talking to you! Paula001 - girl u have some crazzy moves, you have those pics we took when Markus was spinning? really nice to meet you too and looking forward to party with you again!! Dallastar - wow u were in full effect sunday night!! good to finally meet u too!!
And to all the usual suspects: Nada - i can't b live our texts, i was laughing so hard reading them the next day!! It was soooooo good to c ya again after my loooong trip and HUGE thanks to brandon (gekO) who made this possible, otherwise I might of not seen you at all!!! Loved your hair by the way, the vibe as usual and will definately be there for yours and tyler's bday!!! Ali - it's always nice to see you beside ur crazy girl, keep it up!!! TranceGrooves - holy fawk tyler, u were the only person who followed the rules of this meetup!! As soon as I got to the back of the KH, I saw ur ass going crazy on that floor!!! I can't b live u got ur record signed by Markus Schulz!! WOW!!! That's definately going into your crazy collection!!! Always a pleasure partying with you and will definately celebrate ur birthday in two weeks time!!! gekO - bro first of all thanks for leading the way to nada's reserved space and you bring one facking crazy vibe to the dancefloor!!! It was nice to chill with you throughout the night and I'll see ya at Oakie soon fo sho!! Tranceee - sahand man, u make the flashbacks thanks to ur crazy vids and pics!!! Keep that shit coming but next time take some pics of all of us, not just Armin!!! You should have stayed till the end to hear Yet another suburban train, i know i missed it too but you would have died hearing this track!!! Karim (i loved ur shirt, nice to see you again buddy!!) Fahad (at one point I saw some guy who looked exactly like you, i was like yooooo fahad wat up, and the guy was like wtf??? then i realized it wasn't u but i swear the god he looked like a fahad replica!! good to see ur ass again after u missed A&B) Playa24_7 (dan u crazy mofo, this was the first time I've seen ur ass on the coach in a long long time!!! i told ya, get back up and dance on the friggen bar!!!!) And to all others: Shanny, Lisa Loo, Starsearcher, Dance2dabeat, Vertigo, Yankeebaby and everyone else!!! Nice to party with ya all!!!

ATTENTION MAGIKB!! JENNIE!!!!!!! WHERE IN THE WORLD WERE YOU???? I can't b live we couldn't find eachother!!! I was like really depressed at one point after I realized my search was over and it was time to call it a night at 8AM!!! PM me when you see this k hun!!!

SPYDER (OLA) - I really missed ur presence @ LOL sweetie
Hope you can make a trip down for Thanksgiving weekend otherwise keep me posted on who comes to Windsor. I'll call ya as soon as I'm done with this review, need to work tomoro at 7:45am so i don't know about all nighter today however b/c it is ur last night here I might make some schedule changes!!!

To wrap it up, all in all it was a night to remember at LoL!!! It alters some things in my top 5 list for this year, now it looks like this:
5)Marco V @ Guv
4)Above and Beyond @ Guv
3)Tiesto @ Docks
2)Danny Tenaglia @ Docks
1)Labour of Love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Final year of university officially started for me today and so I'm assuming there will be less partying for me, however you can almost count on me being there for Oakie/Cattaneo, JOOF, M.I.K.E., PVD, and Thanksgiving clash!!! Basically the partying NEVER STOPS!!! SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE UR BOOTIES!!!!

See everyone around and good luck in your new school year, or if ur not in school than keep on making the big $$$!!!!!
