Yes it will. You could be offered a high position or maybe even a permanent position IN Germany. Regardless if they speak English with you or not. Their clients may or may not but possessing that language is going to open extra doors.

Learning any skill opens extra doors. My argument is there are better marketable skills to learn than a foreign language. Depends on your profession though.

No one said it was so much more marketable or anything. The whole argument came up because I said:

Both typical American responses. You go to live/work in a country, learn their fucking language. End of story.

False. That stuff sucks. I have used it, and while it has a good style of teaching, it does not give you a good basic understanding of the language first with respect to grammar and structure.

This whole threadnaught is because of you and your fancy GED.

I'm using Rosetta Stone for Chinese... Their speaking part sucks. :/ So far it's not worth the price they are asking.

hahaha

See, I was using it for Russian, and while the pronunciations I was hearing were correct, that is all they start with. Understanding grammar is a HUGE part of speaking. And without that foundation, you will reproduce a horrible bastardization of a language.

Although since their Chinese speaking is horrible, then pretty much hits it home that this software blows.

Also, not having the ability for a teacher to correct you when you are speaking is also another advantage of a real person teaching you.
