My 2c on the top 50 tracks list:
I think the list was a really strong one...People seem to be griping a lot (as they often will) about some of the choices and omissions, but, for me, it was pretty strong when viewed as a list of dancefloor friendly tracks. I look to their list to include the tracks I've had the most fun getting crazy too, and probably even enlighten me as to a few of the ones I hadn't quite figured out yet.
In that regard, the only real omission from my point of view was Makam's What Ya Doin. I haven't been going out much in the past 6 weeks, but that track set dance floors on fire over the party. It was a mainstay at a lot of the parties I attended, and I never got tired of it.
As for New 4 U - that tracks always put a smile on my face, so I have no problem with it. Great piece of music. Was hoping Barnt - Geffen would be a bit higher, actually - that one, like the Makam track, realllly got dance floors groovin.
Au Seve was a fun track, but that was one that I actually really did tire of. It just doesn't have the same longevity for me...
Moomin - Don't Fly When It's Foggy is something I wish I owned on vinyl...The Hot Natured track might have actually deserved to be higher. There's a lot of hate out there for it, but it's a great track in the hot natured aesthetic. Pachanga Boys - Time is definitely a special track, too, and deserves that spot based solely on the Burning Man vid.
Anyway, overall a pretty satisfying list.
