Now heres a question for you photo buffs
I'm thinking of getting at least 1 photo I've taken on my travels blown up to a feature size to hang on my wall. So I'm looking at A1 or 75cm x 100cm or A0 sort of size. It was taken with a 7mp camera, think its about 2300 x 3070 resolution photo, which the computer tells me is 19.5cm x 26cm.
I'm looking around for a printer to do this stuff, when I go and talk to them is there anything in particular I should be asking to work out who might do a better job? (I'm probably going to take it to a professional photographic printer place rather than some retail store though).
Its a nature shot of a waterfall so it has real fine detail in the wy the water is falling and misting.
Do I want it printed on "metallic"? What is it, will it make it look better? Seeing its going to go into a frame so behind glass (probably) do I want it printed matte or gloss?
The other confounding factor is a husband of a friend can print it at a rate a fair bit cheaper (like $30 less) than the other places, but I don't know how good it will turn out. Is there anything I can ask to work out how good it might be? (apparently he's a professional printer too, he does all the printing for our work, but thats not photographic quality)
yeah obviously I don't know anything about photography
