Game Endy Chavez, for a 1-0 win!

3rd walk-off win in 8 days for the Mets
they've won games in the 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, and 16th inning

Thank you Stuart Scott with that ESPN update.

MOOOOOSE!

I haven't seen Moose pitch this well as a Yankee. Last time he was this dominant was back in his Orioles days. I'm shocked to be honest! I keep waiting for that game where he gets rocked.... but I'll keep holding my breath.

I like Melky Cabrera, he's a nice slappy type of hitter. He's only 21.

I agree - melky is doing a great job holding his own. I'm really a fan of the bottom say 4 of the lineup, if you want to include stinnett...i say long, cabrera, cairo, and stinnett do a great job so far when it's came their time to shine. I would really like to see Long pop off as leathal lefty holding up the bottom of the order, someone who could put the ball over the fence easily. Even though he hasn't really demonstrated any real home run power, his swing is compact on the inside and long on the outside. A good contact hitter nonetheless as most of his shots to RF are seeing eye shots, I hope donnie baseball gets this kid in the cage and start to develop a bottom of the order home run threat!

I think Moose is fueled by his contract due up, not sure if it's been decided already if he'll stay in pinstripes.

on another note, and probably should be in another thread, what do you all think about the NBA finals? Pheonix vs Heat? Pheonix vs Detriot make a really good game, hell even Dallas vs Detroit make it interesting.

His minor league starts will probably draw the largest crowds since Michael Jordan's baseball stint

even more injuries for the Yanks
their medical staff have sure been kept busy

Sheff back on the DL
Jeter missing his 2nd straight start
now Rivera is hurt, with something to do with his back - maybe he shouldn't have gone 3 innings on Tuesday

impressive that despite all this, they're still tied for 1st in the AL East

Terrance Long is 30 years old and just a journeyman. He's a stopgap solution at best. I'm not a big fan of his. But they could do a lot worse for just signing a guy off the street.

Wang isn't that special. He's too inconsistent for my tastes. He needs to develop an off speed pitch. It's just hard stuff after hard stuff. When his sinker isn't dominant, he struggles. His control bit him in the ass tonight.

Yanks are beat up pretty badly. Jeter/Sheff/Matsui is a lot of talent out of the lineup. Looks like Sheff will be out for awhile, I guess 4-6 weeks and he'll get surgery. Don't forget Damon is playing with a cracked foot.

Farnsworth blows yet another save, which allows the Tigers to avoid a 4-game sweep

IM HONESTLY SHOCKED THE YANKEES ARE STILL IN THE POSITION THEY ARE IN WITH THE INJURIES THIS YEAR. THEY NEED AN OUTFIELDER AND A STARTER NOW!! ITS GOOD TO SEE THE YOUNG GUYS ACTUALLY GETTING A CHANCE AND DOING WELL. THEY SHOULD TRADE WAND AND MELKY FOR ZITO OR WILLIS

interesting that the Orioles are thinking of drafting Jeffrey Maier, who was the kid who caught Jeter's "home run" in the 1996 ALCS between the Yanks and Orioles
