my biggest gym pet peeve happens to be groups of worthless girls. worthless because they do all their excercises wrong and/or use next to no weight AND while wasting their own time they are also wasting mine by occuping a machine or area in the gym. i'm a girl too but i've never found it productive to travel in a herd with my friends at the gym

so i'm doing this fitness thing w/ my squadron. we're doing one million pushups. we have 100 peple, so if we each do 100 pushups a day for 100 days, we'll reach our goal [that's 10,000 pushups per person over a 100 day period].
it's really not any kind of strenuous workout or anything. most of the time i get it knocked out at work anyways. but it's kind of cool to see so many people going towards one goal.
but little things like this can be fun and motivating and can help out your fitness level [even if its just a small bit]. you'd be surprised the amount of different variations to do such a simple exercise too.
i know, personally, i'm not a fan of the gym persay. mainly because it seems like too much emphasis of working out at the gym is geared towards weightlifting, which is something i'm just not really interested as far as fitness wise.
i dunno if anyone else feels the same way, but doing simple things like pushups/situps at home are a good way to exercise and are so simple, they can be done on a daily basis....even at home/work.

Fucking gym is closed this week (school gym, spring break).
I have a huge open blister on my toe that I'm trying not to infect, so running is pretty much out of the picture.
I'm basically sitting around on my ass all week, and I'm not happy about it.
I just realized (from people telling me) that my lats are over developed because they over-compensate whenever I do shoulders or sometimes any upper body workout. Anyone else come across this problem too?

don't have that problem, but i could see it happening. switching exercises and using good form should fix it though, no biggie.

At that point you kind of crossed the rubicon and you might as well lay siege to Rome

Yeah I was told to lower the weight with shoulders and biceps and go slower. That seems difficult since I feel like my shoulders and biceps aren't big enough anyway. Maybe I'll hire a trainer.

If your working the back part of your shoulders it engages a bit of your back. I guess you would really have to be screwing up your form to have a compensation like this to happen.
