Imo, the ruling was fair. According to Todt, McLaren has confirmed that it had to install a firewall to prevent information from Stepney from reaching the team in the form of documents. It's really a harsh punishment for not getting constuctors point as alot of money is involved with each point scored in the constructors championship.

The team needs to be punished some how. But yeah, the stewards could have fined them heavily instead of forfeiting their constructors points.
