it's not set in stone yet, we're going there first for like a week as soon as i get my passport in a few weeks. then we'll take it from there...but it's an option that we're both highly considering. his dad has a house there and knows everyone and we'd pretty much eat for free all the time and have bicycles, etc... we wouldn't need much at all.

I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer, but the D.R. sounds like not such a great place to live. I for one, can't handle the idea of being on an Island where, within a month, I'll have no new places to explore. Even places like St. Thomas that have awesome beaches and resorts have some pretty bad poverty once you get off the beach. You'll probably see more of this than you want:





How long do you plan on living there for? On the bright side, you'll probably get to see some awesome baseball games down there. lol.

the dominican republic is a nice place though, just do not go where the locals do

it's not like we're going there for ever. his dad needs help and has the bars to run and like i said, his dad is pretty much one of the locals and he knows everyone. my bf has been there before and it's great. yea, it's small and i'm sure we'll get bored, but at the same time, i'll be fine as long as i'm with him. i'm sure we'll go fishing a lot and snorkeling and just relax and work too.

and sarah business has been a little slow for him. people are broke and can't afford brand new kitchens and home remodelling these days. but he still gets work here and there. he's got one big job lined up and then after that, we're gonna go check it out in DR. when we get back, we're going to buy some properties and rent them out/maintain them. i have the credit and he has the experience with property managment and can do all the maintainenece and repair/remodelling. but now is the time for both of us to say fuck it and pack our shit and go to a tropical island for a little less than a year. who knows, some opportunities could arise, there's people coming in and out of the ports all the time...famous people, rich business people on yachts, etc... you just never know what might happen or who we might meet.

yea and theyll be serving you drinks with lil umbrellas in them and every day at 12:00 they set up a beach volleyball game and you will go parasailing, and jetskiing, and 5 star accomodation......You fuckin retard you're not going to a resort lol.
