Wow what a game, it was sooo exciting. I wished Bosh got that last jumper in even the series it would be awesome going back home with a win. But yeah quite a big difference in performance from Toronto going with a smaller team. I still think it will be Magics in game 6

Anyone else notice that TJ sat the last 16+min of the game? Another nail in the coffin.

Two glaring things that could cost Mitchell and his staff their jobs if they lose this series:

(1) The under-utilization of Kapono this year.

(2) Bargnani's lack of development this year.

1) Very true, Kapono is talented and what not but Sam Mitchell doesn't use him as much, and he's making 5-6 million a year. Recently he did show some depth in his play, he's actually driving the ball. I like that lil drive he did in today's game.

2) I think he's still adjusting to NBA style of game play coming from Europe and all and being intimidated by bigger, stronger, faster players. He has a Nowitzki style of play which would be very destructive playing along with Bosh. I hope he develops over the off-season or else bye bye to him. There's a reason why Mitchell keeps backing him up and Coangello didn't trade him yet. He's got a lot of potential.

I think #1 will be the biggest factor. I hated on Kapono before but I'm putting my foot in my mouth right now: he's one of the few reasons we've had a chance at winning a game these playoffs. I still don't understand why he wasn't even more involved in Game 2, along with Bosh. Those 2 should be getting a touch on every possession. Guys like Moon are not supposed to be jacking up shots when Kapono has the hot hand.

Unless Toronto really turns it around in games 3 and 4 I'm seeing another weak performance and exit for the Raptors.

Unfortunately I agree with you on both points.

I agree 100%

Bargnani had a little moment too, you can see the competitiveness in his eyes right after that three pointer. He was open a couple times but Calderon didn't pass it to him, even though Calderon got it in. Mitchell even decided to keep him on too until he slacked a bit on defense. Poor Rasho not playing he's been good lately.

I also liked how they defended against D12 today.

I have always questioned Sam Mitchell's coaching style. From the very get-go in Toronto his utilization of players and more specifically utilization of certain players in certain game situations has always been quite testy in my opinion. I think he is highly deficient in having the right players on the floor at the right times in the game. There have been so many situations over the last couple of years where his complacency in this area has cost them games. It was sort of forgotten about when they went on their run last year when everyone was hot. From the get-go this season it has been pretty obvious again. Surely Colangelo is well aware of this as well. He has even gone as far as saying that he is disapointed in the way players have been utilized this year. I am beginning to think that maybe he had no choice other than to sign Mitchell last year? Even now, who would be his successor if he was fired? The market for coaches right now is not exactly the greatest.

It will be very interesting to see how this plays out...

So true. Especially the last 2 sentences. I still can't figure out why the ball didn't go through Kapono and/or Bosh on like 90% of possessions these past 2 games. It was pretty clear from the get-go that Kapono is on; and Bosh is the star player so he needs to always be involved. Especially after averaging 33 fucking points and a perfect FT record against the Magic...

Ps. Anybody know if Anthony Parker was held up at the border or something?? Talk about being a no-show this series. It's like the guy aged 5 years since last season.

What I still don't understand is why these guys settle for the jumper, rather than driving to the hole ??? we had almost 10 full seconds to go to the net and either get the basket or get a foul. Had they done that, game over!!! and we'd be on our way back home...having taken away their home advan.

What a frustrating game.

I don't know why, but Mitchell cannot get the Raps to play the inside game, offensively or defensively. It's been like this ever since Mitchell took over

Only guy who does it consistently is Bosh.

/end captain obvious statement

Bosh didn't drive because he was tired. He also didn't get the call the last time up the floor. Sir Charles was right, they were two bad offesnively designed plays at the end of the game that cost the raps. Jose, Kapono both had the hot hand. Delfino was attacking the rim with reckless abandon, AP has ice in his veins. Bosh would have been a good decoy in the play, but I would have drew up something that made him option #5 to shoot.

But like my MSN name currently says : Because the least expected play is the one you run all season. Well done Sam, you are truly brilliant.

Seriously, what playoff team has not scouted our high pick and roll? Can he not draw up something else for crunch time?
