and if a CPC candidate or supporter knocked on my door to seek my support, that's the FIRST question that I would have asked them.

"before I even comment on my vote, can you please explain to me the rationale for spending an exhorbitant amount of taxpayer money on an election that none of us wanted or needed, AND despite fixed election date legislation?"

the consequent "uh, uh, uh..." would have resulted in me closing my door after asking them to return when they have an answer that was a little less bullshit than Harper's "Parliament is dysfunctional".

yeah but Quebec is so disgrunted with libs right now, though this can change in few years when Cons aren't as popular as Quebecers as originally thought and people will get fed up with Bloc eventually

true.

seems to be by looking at election results both federal and prov in quebec, quebecers are looking for an answer, but quite haven't found exactly what they are looking for because all the politicians are douches

Honestly, I don't blame Quebecers... constantly having the Bloc there to agitate has annoyed the parties that actually can form a government into giving Quebec some small concessions. If you can extort a little bit at a time eventually you'll get what you want.

is there any other choice? 100+ years of federal govts mostly elected out of Quebec solved nothing to the Quebec question... so many false promises.

Peter Kent also finally won for the Conservatives here in Thornhill, which used to be overwhelmingly Liberal. Tories are making inroads into Ontario!

By "question", you mean "when are we getting more money?"

I think had the stock market not tanked they would have had a solid chance at a majority...which was probably their thought when calling the election as well.

So the green party won 7% of the popular vote and still couldn´t get a seat? this is why I think our election system is retarded. HIPPIES ARENT ALL IN ONE RIDING!

also, Dion rhymes with ¨gone¨

I don't know about that...

the economy tanking is probably also the reason that the carbon tax plan proved to be so unpallatable to Candians. The current situation provided the very basis for the CPC "Dion is not worth the risk" campaign, questioning "another tax" for Canadians at this time.

The popular vote has its quirks...but what do you do? Give seats based upon popular vote? there would never be a majority gov't and we'd have unelected officials in Parliament (e.g. no one voted in a Green party memeber, but they would have 7% of the seats? to whom are these MPs directly accountable? Their riding that didn't elect them???)

it's our own money from the get go. The latest figure is 43 billion sent to ottawack in 2004, how much came back?

Quebec will be just fine without Ottawack and its chronies.
