No its not the same. That isnt what ricky was shitty with.

The rules allow for bowlers to be off the ground for 8 mins max without having to wait before bowling again. Rickys problem is everytime prior to bowling and straight after bowling your bowlers go off the ground for pre-bowl rub downs, stretching etc and post bowl rub downs under the guise of going to the toilet. His concern is it isnt with keeping with the spirit of the game although within the rules.

good & bad news for Aus

the bad news - forecast is dodgy, they say it's gonna be quite cool (mid teens) so will swing a lot.

the good news - Rudi Koertzen is umpire. this man hates england and always tries to make a statement when umpiring here either by calling bowlers in the danger area, or finding a law noone knew existed to use.

england name squad for Thursday

Collingwood and Anderson called up for England

Cricinfo staff

September 4, 2005

Paul Collingwood and James Anderson have been added to England's squad for the fifth Test at the Oval alongside the eleven who have played every Test this series.

The pair have been included so that the final eleven will be balanced whether Simon Jones plays or not. Jones is continuing to receive treatment on his injured ankle and will be re-assessed by the medical team at practice on Tuesday.

"James Anderson has 'big match' experience with England," said David Graveney, England's chairman of selectors, "and we feel that his inclusion in the squad will give the captain and coach another bowling option in the event of Simon Jones being unfit to play."

Hampshire's Chris Tremlett misses out on a squad place, despite being made in the 12 for the first four Tests - a fact which has, ironically, cost him his place this time. Graveney says that they have left Tremlett because he has not had much match practice in recent weeks. "We feel that he is not at the top of his game at the moment," he said.

England head to the Oval knowing that they need just a draw. Australia need to win to level the series and hence retain the Ashes. Australia, meanwhile, were lifted by the news that Glenn McGrath has declared himself fit for the contest which begins on Thursday.

England suqad Marcus Trescothick, Andrew Strauss, Michael Vaughan (capt), Ian Bell, Kevin Pietersen, Andrew Flintoff, Geraint Jones (wk), Ashley Giles, Steve Harmison, Simon Jones, Matthew Hoggard, Paul Collingwood, James Anderson.

Why would they change the squad?

The 11 that will take the field will be unchanged though.

surely................

Bell is a doubt, he suffered a really bad bout of cramp yesterday in the cup final match, and Jones who turned his ankle at Trent Bridge is still only 50/50

Time for our secret masterplan to combat shane warne to come into effect tonight.

Stage One - Get Andrew Symonds to take him out for a few beers

Stage Two - Get a fit blonde with big tits to catch his attention

Stage Three - The woman asks warney if he wants to eat her in a bathtub full of baked beans (which are laced with enough sleeping pills to put him out for say, a week)

Stage Four - Bring out her twin sister, who also wants Warney to eat beans off her body

Mission complete
