All people are small before time.

Well as with most things, it's both an abstraction and an observation. There is the phenomenon of time as in dilation or contraction, but then there is merely the measurement of movement and cohesion as per other observable forces interacting with one another. Our arbitrary units reducible to a cesium atom seem to work ok for things like consensus in government, though people's perceptions of this will obviously vary depending on their state of consciousness, yet another variable seemingly dictated by environment and chemistry.

Where time becomes important, as though it were a location, is the when of one's goals are to be achieved to produce the most favourable results. I suppose you could sum this up with something as kitschy as "life goals", but the fulfillment of physical directives seems to take priority upon, yet again, environmental and chemical interactions we have ascribed confirmatory response towards, an infinitely binary form of reasoning that easily trumps all the philosophies and religions that our brief slip on a lonely rock have thusfar indicated. That is to say, who needs a bible when you're hungry? No wait, don't answer that, there's too much personal inference involved.

Time as we would know it is faith contracted between each individual consciousness in an effort to produce. The product could be any variety of things, biological urge at the forefront of most endeavors, but proximity be it social or physical is the glue holding our time together, and it's every bit as real as it is ephemeral. A sense of time is like meaning condensed to the precipitation of events which by faith will proceed our conscious existence - what better way to ensure this transmits than to dive dick-first into the frothy ethers of the genetic deep-end?

But if you think about it, that's a pretty bad move - because if all of these intelligent people don't have kids, the only people left populating the Earth are the stupid/ignorant.

If you're incapable of having a very succesful career and raising your own kids too, then maybe you're not all that intelligent after all.

Say that to them. I do and it gets them pretty fucking riled up because they know it's true so it hurts

I'm not really sure what your argument is. Do you actually think the world's going to be shit for your children, or there'll be some sort of collapse of society? Why bring up an idealised view of pre-industrial society, or talk about whether it's better to be human now?

Are you claiming that the future is going to be materially tough, or spiritually tough?

i think ppl who have children often try to correct the wrongs of their childhood through their kids and end up spoiling them in the process. its important to do it for the right reasons.

I'd like to have children, but its a big responsibility that I don't take lightly, its such a scary and awesome challenge to take on. I'm in a much better position as far as maturity and growth now, I can't imagine what a bad job I would have done if I was a parent in my early 20's.
