Headed over to Karu & Y a little after 10, I think they opened about 10:30. I recommend not talking with the line bouncers unless necessary though. I asked one guy where to go with a hard ticket, and he said to go to the front of the line labeled "will call." No line was labeled "with tickets," was just cash and will call from what I remember. So I cut in front of the people in line as directed, and another bouncer up front puts up his hands and yells that the club is not open yet. Upon asking if I should wait up front or go to the back of the line (since I had a hard ticket in a will call line), he got very irritated and said "look, you have to wait with everyone!" A simple "people with tickets should go to the back/front of the line would have been helpful.
Once inside, the club was so dark. Some blue lights up ftont and that was it...made me wonder how A&B's mostly uplifting music would go over in a dark cave...lol. I mean it was so dark that the only way to see other people was to turn around and look back at them!
Martin Roth was spinning an interesting mix of tech/house, Andy Moor's set really kicked the energy up, and Jono and Tony killed it! Cool outside area, ran into some friends there and we headed into the side room for the TA meetup at 1. But where to find the TA's when the room was completely packed from wall to wall like sardines? Sorry that we never found the meetup!
Overall, a great night, left just when Gareth was coming on. My ears were saying "yes," but after being on the yacht earlier for 5 hours, my feet were saying "no.". ...and there was absolutely no place to sit in this club to take a breather, plenty of empty couches and tables, actually, but they were all "reserved VIP" but nobody was biting.
Hope Ferry goes off there tonight! Looking forward to the reviews and pics to come.
