I have no problem with people being overweight. It's their body, their health, their life. What I hate is fat people who refuse to take responsibility for their own body. They blame society. They blame the food. They blame their metabolism. They blame their thyroid. They tell healthy people they're too thin, they tell themselves they're normal. The amount of overweight people who tell me I'm unhealthy, I'm too thin, I'm just lucky to have a fast metabolism is frightening. Millions and millions of deluded people, unable to face their own flaws, taking it out on others.

What a bunch of ableist bullshit. God, this forum is so depressing. There are many invisible illnesses that list weight gain as a symptom. A thyroid problem actually does make it harder to lose weight.
I don't know what your problem is, you just keep coming across as an angry extremist about meat. It's like everyone's worst fear about vegans, flipped around. This is so ridiculous.

I know it does, but most people do not have a thyroid problem. Most people do not have any problem. I don't know how anyone can look at the statistics for obesity and then convince themselves they are some medical exception to the rule without ever getting a confirmation from a doctor that they have one of these "invisible illnesses".
Do you happen to be on medication? For anything? Don't second guess the question, just a straight answer will be fine.

I ranted at your boyfriend for insultingly labelling me "lazy and selfish", to which I retaliated in kind against his typically atrophic logical justification.
All my other anger in this thread has had nothing to do with meat or vegetarians or vegans. It has to do with fat people unable to take responsibility. And, as I've already made clear, my reason for that anger is because I've been attacked or criticised by these people all my fucking life for having a healthy bodyweight. My housemates do it to me. My BMI and body fat numbers are fine, but they say "You can't be a healthy weight". I had it from a guy at my last job, who made endless jibes about how skinny I was. The only reason I originally started lifting weights was to get rid of these comments, but that actually seems to have made things worse. The healthier you are, the more bitter their comments.
You can blather about "invisible diseases" all you want, but I know these people, I see what they eat, how much they eat and how little exercise they do. And no matter what the obvious problems are, their logic is always, invariably the same. There are stock phrases that simply make my hackles rise.
