Blanket generalizations are awesome. Keep it up.

Round and round we go on the circular logic carousel.

Praying 5 times a day could possibly make someone an extremist.
Only an extremist would bomb innocent people.
Praying must have made him an extremist.

Reading comprehension ftw - I never said praying 5 times a day made him an extremist.

No, but you said...

... which is you saying that anybody who prays five times per day has a predisposition for extremism. That's how it reads.

Far from me to muster any defense of Islam, but observing Salah is no more an implication of rigidity than a Christian going to church on Sundays.

But yes, his perverse views of religion and his place in the world were no doubt contributing factors to do such a thing.

My Grandparents go to mass every day. I guess it's any day now that I'll hear about them blowing up a Protestant church in Northern Ireland.

Hey, if the shoe fits - there are a lot of people out there who are desperately seeking to belong or fit in, who become indoctrinated into various religions and become fanatics as a result. Hell, I've witnessed newly-found Buddhists who exhibit polar opposite behaviour to what's prescribed, as they're too caught up in adhering to principles to realise they've swung the pendulum to an extreme.

No. If we're going to keep on making blanket generalizations, then I must assume that because your elderly white grandparents attend Catholic mass daily, that they're racist, Republican, homophobic, anti-choice assholes. FUCK THEM.

You realize that the number of people turned to extremism when looking for a religion to help them "fit in" or "belong" pales in comparison to the number of those who benefit positively from said religion, right?
