This is what trance used to sound like. Today it sounds like it's on steroid and pumped to get to the quickest to the shops. There is no real theme/story behind tracks anymore. It doesn't evoke any sort of emotional bond that you might get. The stories that don't evoke the struggles of life. This is especially with uplifting Trance. It's so sad that this beautiful music is being destroyed like this. Everything sounds robotic and there is no emotion in these modern tracks. There is no Tender love and care gone into these modern tracks.

^Good job Jeroen!
U96 - Das Boot: I remember hearing the original back in the 90's in a German club, wtf moment. A bunch of remixes just has been released, this is one of them:

I'm afraid I'd say it's a bit unimaginative and a bit weak. Might have opted for a different kind of bassline sound too, rather than this rolling almost-psy thing. Gets a little bland precisely after the 5 minute mark.

I looked that up on Spotify for a quick browse - I see your point.
I'm so out of the loop I didn't even realise the appropriation of those characteristic psy sounds is so pervasive.
My soul cried a little when I just looked up the newest Ralphie B track on Black Hole (because he used to do so nicely, in times past) and it was basically just the same kind of thing, possibly worse than your Patterson track. At times the bassline sound just sounds horrible under whatever else is going on.
One must stay relevant, I suppose.

^true, Alex is a good friend of Woody van Eyden, did a lot together.
Many collabs lately, he also did a few with PvD and Ram.
Sound of Belgium here, released tomorrow, great remix by Jorn Van Deynhoven of this 1995 classic by Ultra Shock, again a track with some spy in it:
Here the two 1995 versions, still think that siren is cool:
