so can you explain to me why you would originally post this?
and then after actually looking into the matter you post this?
what was the point in the first place? ok i'll give you the benefit of the doubt on posting this here in COTA, but to go and post the first quote in SETA fourms? what was the purpose of doing that? please explain, because i can't fathom what it was? all that does is make denver and our scene look bad to others across the country, when the incident didnt even happen at the club? im at a loss for words, seriously |
Don't get your panties all in bunches, chill out babe
Opps.. i was viewing 'new posts' and posted there. I'm sure Atlanta has a much higher crime rate than we do. There are shootings in every city in every country of the world, these things happen. I was shooked that it happened so close to home cos we all walk the streets coming to and fro.
You know... what really makes the scene look bad? It is the hostilities some ppl project onto others here in the forum and also at the clubs. For example... shoving my foreign friends outa the way at nu nrg so u guys could get closer to the booth, Perfect fooking Gentlemen...pfft No wonder why ppl worldwide hate americans, with this kind of selfish, infantile mentality. I'm not sure who I yelled at that nite, but that was just downright rude for a 6 ft guy to be shoving girls outa the way. How gay is that???
Shawn is a talented producer & dj and if you don't like his style then don't listen. If he likes burning all his cds to the same bpm then that's his business, but he doesn't do that. Obviously ppl like his sets cos they always tune in.
Let's all take a deep breath here and please remember the true meaning of PLUR!!! I think PLUR is dead in the polluted minds of some ppl.
Seems that I brought a little life to this thread...

I don't have any problems with you what so ever and I often agree with your rants about Santiago and such. In no way am I saying i'm a better DJ than James Zabiela cause I probably like him as much as you do, I think Eriks comment was more so about stateing how he didn't enjoy the music, not his DJing skills etc. As for the comment from Pagoda that was down write a cheap shot that is far from the truth, I do not know you, and I just don't understand where a comment like that would come from when I wasn't even considering you in the conversation or discussion between myself and Jason. I have nothing left to say, i'm done reading this part of the forums, and i'm especially done with ever showing respect to anyone from COTA. |
well after i read your post in response to mine, i suppose i took offense because i'd always gotten the impression that you had began to dislike me with the things i've said to people i know are your friends. so if i overreacted than i'll apologize for that...
but as far as me and erik go...i don't think he'd take that comment from me as offensive, because he knows i'm right haha . break up the monotony? what is that? luke fair and james have very similar styles . i know you didn't care for all of the effects and the like, but some of the other things you were saying erik are crap. robophobia is crap and overplayed? i heard you played it the week before ...and its james' tune so once again i just think its a matter of, all the COTA's were excited to see zabs, and erik felt a bit threatened by james getting that much attention...
anyway, maybe this is just getting misunderstood because of the internet factor...i'm sure if erik asks me about it and then here's the tone in my voice he won't be offended...

If that's really what you think, then you obviously haven't gotten to know me very well. I didn't say that James was a crappy dj, but that I didn't like what he did with his set. You know what they say about assuming, right? Makes an ass out of u and me. I really liked the tricks that he pulled off, early in the set, but I like a bit more melody (at least some) throughout a set. JZ, and Luke Fair, have obviously earned their positions, but I would rather see Sasha, Digweed, Hernan, and quite a few others, before JZ (based on this visit, anyway). I've liked some of his live sets a lot better than I enjoyed this visit, as well.
BTW - Why would I be threatened by him. He has it all, and doesn't influence me in anyway, when it comes to progressing. Not like he's gonna come and try to take something from me.

Did I feel threatened when Sasha was here, and I said it was one of the best sets I've ever heard? I felt that Fair would bring in a more melodic, building track, and JZ would go back to deep. Reminds me of some tag sets that I've had, and it really frustrated me. Robophobia is a great track. Did I say it was crap? I think it's getting overplayed, and I'll probably start playing I Am Computer, instead. I just don't like playing tracks that all the other locals are playing. If it were only JZ, I would still play it a lot. Understand where I'm coming from on that.
Note - You guys missed a great party on Saturday. We actually did a lot better than expected and had a truly great time.
As far as the BPMing and Shawn. That's my mistake. When I told you that, Andy, I didn't mean it as a diss. I was under the impression that he had done it, one time, for his first gig, but it actually came up on Saturday and Shawn explained that it wasn't the case. He just likes to write his bpms down as a reference point, but is still beatmatching. I can say, knowing all of you, that everyone is pretty cool here. I don't care for Elletek, because she was a bitch at the Church, but not based on the things that happen online. TA isn't the real world and things are often blown out of proportion, when they shouldn't, on this board. Shawn should be out more often now, and hopefully you guys will get a chance to meet him and get to know him better. He agrees with many of your peeves, but I understand him promoting himself here as well. I also understand that you guys would like to know him better, before supporting him, if he doesn't communicate much in the thread. I can assure you all that you would all get along, and that most of this drama is starting from misunderstandings. I know that Jason isn't attacking my character, but he feels the necessity to make commentary, when he sees something he doesn't agree with. If he thought I was trying to say that I'm better than Zabiela, I'm glad he would try to call me out on it.
