@ St. Andrew: Well, even though I can't mount NTFS drives, compiz is working great though and I'm loving the 3d-desktop. Having multiple desktops with compiz is just sick, not only does it look bad ass, but it really adds to the functionality of the gui . Here's some screenshots... click on the thumbnails to view the whole thing.

Pulling a maximized window to check the rest of my desktop:

^^^ Those glitches only came in the screen shot the thing works perfectly though.

The campus is great it is all the douchebags, hipsters, greeks, trust fund babies, and uber nerds that make it blow ass.

Once you install Ubuntu, let me know and I can help you install and set up with compiz.

Here's what my FSTAB looks like:

But when I type "sudo mount -a", I get:

AAAAAA!!!!!!!!!

I think you make things too complicated here, it's probably already auto mounted and hence your errors? Sorry for late reply, but haven't been on for a while

Nothing in /media/ ?

Windows XP for me all the way. Less hardware intensive, more stable, and much more simple. I don't need all those extra features. I just want a simple, practical, stable, OS to use without all the fancy stuff I will never bother to use..

LOL, that's exactly why I stopped using Windows.

I like Linux, but when I used Ubuntu, I couldn't stand the fact I couldn't install new programs because I had to type in command codes. That's so MS-DOS...

It would be nice if Linux could run games liek Supreme Commander, and install games like Windows does, without having to type in damned commands. I know about WINE, but i have no idea how to use it, how to install or anything. I like Windows XP anyways, so I see no reason why to switch to Linux anyways.

Synaptic comes standard with Ubuntu, its perfectly easy.

Screenshots here: http://www.nongnu.org/synaptic/action.html

So much easier than Windows actually.
