Yep, I reckon bat quickly for a lead of 150, declare or hit big with reckless abandon, and then try to bowl them out and chase a small total in the 4th if needed. Wouldn't want to bat past maybe 30 minutes before tea though. Even then they might not be giving themselves enough time.
you're lucky the games not at edgbaston or trent bridge, as being inbetween those two grounds, it rained non stop from 3am friday morning until about 6pm last night, meaning a result would've been nigh on impossible.
As for this match, I'm just hoping we can hold on for a draw, and to win the ashes, but even if we don't, I think we've surprised you a lot, and that's a good thing as it shows how far along we've come lately

FFS all gone for 367. So much for bashing out to a quick lead of 50-100. The last 5 wickets for 11! FFS!!!
Take a good hard look in the mirror Ponting, Martyn, Clarke, Katich and Gilchrist!
I hate Flintoff!

if it did happen, it's well within the rules of the game. I bet you're regretting taking it yourselves in what was decent light on friday. As for Flintoff, that spell is the stuff legends are made of. I worry about how badly we'll bat now, but I am totally over the moon about todays performance.... and all the aussies on my msn list seem to have gone

well thank god for that! i was getting worried there, with warne bowling and clarke about to come on, the england batsmen would be very nervous about those 100 mph bouncers that are so dangerous in bad light conditions....the umpires made the right choice there, have to put the players safety first.
