buh-bye schumacher, i never liked you but there's no doubt what so ever you were fast as fuck.

kubica is really showing signs of being an excellent driver, future champion perhaps?

This reeks of the Italian football fixing scandal, except with cars. All the top teams were running the mass dampers from the start of the season, in some form or another. Renault just had them for longer, and therefore their R26 was designed more with them in mind. Hence why it's hurt them more.

I'm not even a die-hard Renault fan either.

oh boo fucking hoo

The mass dampers were obviously illegal, the joke was that the stewards allowed them, not that they were banned. They were a movable ballast AND aerodynamic device, which is illegal, no ifs or buts.

And shut up about the split rear wings. You have never seen them in use so how can you say they are stupid? What is stupid is that you immediately right them off and claim that next year will be the

How the fuck do you come to that conclusion? Its funny that you'd even consider the last few years to be decent! Admittedly this year has probably been one of the best in the last few years, but one year doesn't make a renaissance

Do you even know what those wings do? The reduce downforce AND create still air behind the car. Both of which will allow physically closer racing and should have more overtaking. Remind me what the problem with that is?

Good on F1 for trying something new to try to make the sport more interesting again.

i read somewhere the split rear wings were scrapped and they have come up with some sort of new wing idea.

actually i don't give a flying fuck if the cars looks silly, if the split rear wing is the way to go for more overtaking then i support it.

TranceNutter:

I know what the split wings do, but I just think the idea is dumb.

I would rather see them go to a venturi bottom car with slick tires to improve mechanical grip that doesn't get unsettled by being behind another car. this would allow fast, close racing reminiscent of the Prost/Senna/Mansell days where the cars weren't totally dependant on being in clean air to generate the required amount of grip to maintain good pace.

As for the FIAt crap, yes the dampers are moveable ballast. But, they were allowed last year, and through half of this year for several teams other than Renault. Ferarri was using them too. At least ban them AFTER the current season so that the engineers can design the new car without incorporating them. Also, the argument that the dampers are moveable aero, is crap in my opinion. This is the rule that they are said to be in violation of because they improve the overall stability of the car. It's a very grey area. I agree they should either be allowed by every team, or banned outright. I don't care, but make the rule clear for all teams (just like launch control a few years ago, which is now legal because they couldn't police it).
