Yeeeeeeeesssssss!

Kimi finally wins a world championship. Ever since i started watching F1 in 2003 i've wanted this man to win (well, not before Coulthard, but he's past his time) and as said before, Kimi should have had the title a looong time ago. Superb driver.

Unlucky for Hamilton i suppose, he's a very good driver but this is obviously what a lifetime of driver training provides you with. His time will come. I'm glad Alonso didn't win, hate that guy.

Oh yeh, and what a finish to the season! Formula 1 should be like this every year - i hate watching the last few races when someone has already won the championship; they usually end up being very boring races. Still think there should be more teams other than Ferrari, Mclaren and BMW getting podiums though.

A possible twist in the tale...

Lewis Hamilton could yet be crowned world champion after Brazilian Grand Prix stewards summoned representatives of BMW Sauber and Williams for alleged technical irregularities.

Representative from both teams are meeting with stewards to discuss a technical infringement, which is believed to be a fuel temperature irregularity.

Williams driver Nico Rosberg finished fourth, with BMW Sauber's Robert Kubica and Nick Heidfeld fifth and sixth respectively.

It is understood fuel temperature issue can give a car extra horsepower advantage, and so is a clear breach of the rules.

Should they be disqualified, Hamilton would be promoted to fourth place and therefore earning him enough to be crowned world champion above Kimi Raikkonen.

Raikkonen won the race and, should the orginal result stand, would claim the world title by one point from both Hamilton and his McLaren team-mate Fernando Alonso.

However, a precedent from 12 years ago means that Hamilton's title hopes remain slim.

On that occasion - also in Brazil - Michael Schumacher, driving for Benetton Renault, and David Coulthard who at the time was with Williams, were initially disqualified as their fuel did not conform to samples approved by the FIA after finishing first and second respectively.

But a week later the FIA chose to reinstate the drivers' points, while the

teams were not allowed to keep the points in the constructors' championship.

Oh well, that didn't last long

Stewards confirm Brazilian GP result

Kimi Raikkonen has been confirmed as the 2007 Formula 1 world champion after Brazilian Grand Prix stewards upheld the original race result.

After lengthy deliberations at Interlagos on Sunday evening, the stewards decided not to penalise Williams and BMW Sauber for minor technical irregularities.

FIA technical delegate Jo Bauer said fuel samples taken from the two teams’ cars during their pit stops in Sunday’s race revealed temperatures outside the permitted range.

But in a statement issued more than six hours after the end of the race, the stewards said there was sufficient doubt about the fuel temperatures “as to render it inappropriate to impose a penalty”.

Mclaren has notified FIA its intention to appeal the stewards decision
So if the decision is overturned and BMW and WILLIAMS cars disqualified, KIMI will no longer be the champion and Lewis will be one

So glad his move to Ferrari was not in vein. He may not have finished every race, but put in very strong performances when needed, and ended up winning the most races through the entire season.

When i started watching F1, in 1997, I got behind Schumacher, but he was already well established as a superb, top contender. Although I loved supporting him, I never saw him in the years of angst, as a young driver coming up through the ranks.

Being able to follow a driver from his first race, to his first championship, feels special. Watching Kimi go through heart break regularly at Mclaren was just terrible. That small smile he broke during the post-race press conference, made it all worth it.

Woot Kimi.

What an ending at last the ICE MAN has become World Champion, couldn't be more happier. Congrats to the Ferrari team working very hard and never letting go even when I myself felt the championship was to be forgotten.

Don't feel sorry for McLaren after the spying scandal although i feel sorry for Hamilton after putting brilliant performances all year round as a rookie. HAHA TO ALFONSO.

FORZA KIMI
FORZA FERRARI

You can guarantee nothing will come of it though. God forbid the FIA ever upset Ferrari.
