you really are a fuk wit mate.

the reason for me informing him, is because its an open decks night.

just like the new horizons, its generally people who are new to playing otu and may already be nervous as fcuk about doing it, so giving them a heads up is anice thing to do to relieve their stresses. Also because the xones dont have any bpm counters, i thought he might want to know, because during the new horizons the person who was playing after me didnt know there wasnt going to be any info on the xone mixers..

To keep this thread on track gil's mixing was excellent. I didnt really like the tracks, but the mixing was spot on. I enjoyed djways mix more since I liked the tunes better. In summation both were pretty good.

hehe thats cool man.. wait for the 'grow of electro' as i like to say and maybe one day you will.. personally each and every part of me is being owned by it right now and most probably for a long time to come, but i'll never limit myself to only one genre.. wades mix was great as i said before.

in reply to the other threads about BPM's.. yeh how can you possibly rely on the counter to give you an exact match? It can definitly be used to give an indication of which way you should move the pitch if you dont already know, but 9/10 times i am assuming the beats will not be exactly matched and will slowly go off sequence. You would probably need a BPM which has an in-between beat counter if there is such a thing to get any useful assistance out of it.

Hell no.. I only ever look at the counter as an indication of how fast I'm playing, NEVER for beatmatching, and only after checkin the crowd out would a I make a judgement on whether to bump it up or knock it back. But having said that, they are more of an interesting indicator as some people (expecially noobies) can't judge well what tempo they're at, and might have the courtesy to make life easier for the dj following them. Very considerate. While I'm talking about consideration, what's with selfish dj's dropping a track at like 1:58 if they start at 2? I ALWAYS finish 2 mins early as opposed to 5 minutes late, I'm not that precious. And what's with dj's stopping the previous guys/gals track halfway though, ultimate disrespect.. Maybe I should start an etiquette thread for dj's.. or maybe, i can't be arsed so I'll highjack this one! (sorry - bad etiquette!)..

Wont ever happen. I dislike it a lot. One or two tracks can be ok but the majority sucks to me.

who does this? i now have a new policy, after having to start 10 minutes later than my set time on the last 3 occasions playing in a club.. my new policy is ill tell the dj - get off or ill throw you off. i dont care if its my best bud, or someone i've never met. you should do the same, and so on, and so forth

ps. talking about curtious djs? try someone who starts playing with the EQ's while im cueing up my first mix.. priceless.

Dave, I was ok with it because it was "Bullet in the gun", that has to come last in your set! But any other tune/dj.. pwoah...

i wasnt inferring that Jaykue needs the bpm counter for matching or anything ffs.. get a life teknoscraper, or at least just get off these boards.

it was more of a courtesy thing...
